    hey all, just checking in.
    didnt go to weigh in on thurs due to working. dont so be tracking fully but sort of know what i can and cant eat, easier at work as only need to plan 2 meals. if i dont take snacks i havent got them there to eat.

    gonna be very good this week though as i only need to lose 1lb and i will have hit the half a stone mark!!!! fingers crossed for me!

    keep it up guys.......summer is nearly here (for me anyways, think some of you already have the nice weather)

    weather in brum is lovely!! the weather has given me the urge to spring clean and I have spent 2 hours yesterday and today blitzing my flat and only done living room and bathroom!!! what I have done so far is so sparkly and clean you could eat your dinner off it!!!! wonder how many points I have earned doing all that...???!!

    got christening today so I will be following my mate around the buffet saying 'how many points?? can I have this?? what about that??'!!!
  • Argh, I'm in a panic! :eek:

    I know this is a big ask, BUT, would anyone that attends the Weight Watchers meetings be able to pick me up one of the 12 week 'Tracker' books?

    I could send payment for the book and postage etc via paypal, or whatever method suits you.

    Don't worry, I'm not a scammer - I just only have one week left in my current tracker book and I'm freaking out as I can't cope without having everything set out and written down on a tracker :(

    If anyone could help me out, I'd be forever in your weight loss debt! :rotfl:

    Hi everyone!

    Just found this thread and thought I would post as I'm hoping to start WW again next week. Have done it in the past, although not for a few years, so I'm just planning to do it myself at home - already have a points calculator, the book that lists food/points values etc so being very MSE it seems daft to pay to join up on line again or to go to meetings. OH is also joining is as we're getting married in September and neither of us wants to be the size we are now in the wedding pics!

    One thing I'm struggling with is how many points I should get per day to start with. I found this "formula" by doing a bit of Googling but it gives me 24 points which seems quite a lot:

    Are you:
    Female = Score 3
    Male = Score 9

    Are you a breastfeeding mother?
    No = Score 0
    Yes, breastfeeding exclusively = Score 10
    Yes, supplementing breastfeeding with solid foods = Score 5

    How old are you?
    16 - 20 = Score 5
    21 - 35 = Score 4
    36 - 50 = Score 3
    51 - 65 = Score 2
    Over 65 = Score 1

    How many stones do you weigh?
    Ignore the lb, the number of stones is your score for this question. Someone who weights 12st 4lb will score 12 - 15 stone

    How tall are you?
    Under 5ft 4ins = Score 1
    5ft 4ins or above = Score 2

    In your day to day life are you:
    Sitting down most of the time = Score 0
    Occasionally sitting, but mainly standing = Score 2
    Walking most of the time = Score 4
    Doing physically hard work most of the time = Score 6

    Add all the sections together and thats your daily allowance.

    Just wondering if people think this sounds about right? Sorry if this has been posted here before but I couldn't find it from a search.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    I have just signed up to WW online, but feel a bit confused...........:o.

    I have done WW before a good few years ago and did well on it - knew all the points off by heart and can still remember some. More recently I went along to the SW group and did OK with that.

    The problem I have is that I like something to actually be able to refer to when I need it for point values - like a booklet, without having to turn the computer on! I have all the old WW stuff from when I went before and it seems that the points are the same? Would that be right - have they changed anything about the points in the last few years? I can't see anything I could print off on the site either which would be better.

    Anyway, off to look around the site a bit more and enter my weight now I've done it! Hoping to lose 8 or 9 lbs by the middle of June (for my hols)!! Fingers crossed for that!!

    Any starting out tips would be great! Thanks and will be reading the thread with interest. Thanks!

    Hi Vikki - that’s right with 24 points and obviously as you lose the weight your points allowance will go down (ie: when you get to 14 stone your points will go to 23 etc)

    Fell off the wagon big style at the christening!! But as it was only 1 day Im not going to let it get me down - just need to keep on the straight and narrow this week!

    I did stay away from pastrys but gave into sandwiches and a wedge of chocolate cake and copious amounts of wine!!!!

    Thanks newcook - I think last time I did WW I was quite a bit thinner to start with which is why 24 points sounds like a lot!

    I'm on hols from work all this week so trying to use some of the time productively by sorting us out for starting WW next Monday - I know from past experience that I tend to find eating healthy much easier if I'm prepared. So far I have been through the cupboards pointing everything we've already got in (Aldi choc orange cereal bars a surprisingly low 1 point which I'm chuffed about as they're yummy :D), started trying to do a rough meal plan for next week and started to read through this thread from the beginning to see if I can pick up any tips - up to page 36 so far! Next job I think will be going through the freezer and pulling out anything which is too pointy so we can eat that up before we start. OH and I are both really bad at resisting temptation so at least at the beginning I think we'll do better if we have no naughty stuff to hand!

  • Well I had a dreadful day yesterday! Am having such trouble getting a decent amount of sleep at night as I suffer from awful dreams which wake me up a huge number of times during the night.

    I just felt so crap yesterday that I stuck to my points up until teatime, then gave in to the temptation and ordered a pizza hut take out with my GF and ate till I felt fit to burst. :( Boo.

    Back on it today though and planning to do 20 mins on my cross trainer later to ease me back into exercising after having a weeks break from it to celebrate my birthday - gah!

    I really need to lose the 1lb I gained last week and be atleast 11st 4lb again this week *sigh* Fingers crossed!

    WI today and the wii fit says I've lost another 5lbs. I'm sure it's telling me fibs! I'm a bit anxious that this is too much and am absolutely terrified of the thought of loose skin...I think I need to be brave and join the gym so I can work out a programme to try and avoid it as much as possible :(
