  • Hi Everyone

I was stupid enough not to read up on reviews before ordering from these scammers...
Same story, item not delivered, refund not processed. I raised a dispute with my debit card company.
Anyone here who paid the scums via debit card and got their refund?

what else can I do to bring them down?
  • Hi, I have a similar situation.
I ordered a phone on 30.06. After almost 3 weeks of being constantly assured that they are dealing with my order (they even changed its status to priority - wow!) I decided to cancel my order. I have no idea what's going to happen. I noticed on their website that in case of the order having status 'packed' or 'shipped' they might charge me a restocking fee. I made a print screen to have a proof that at the time of my cancellation the order status wasn't any of those two. Now, after reading all that, I just hope to get any of my money back. If any of you know the procedure of dealing with them via bank - I would appreciate the information. Unfortunately, I paid with debit card.
  • Hi, I used them a couple of years ago to buy an LG phone and the service was pretty good, and I made a pretty good saving. So I thought about using them again when upgrading my phone. However this time the experience was not so great. I ordered a new LG phone on 30 May, after 3 weeks it still had not arrived so I cancelled my order on 21 Jun. 4 weeks later and still no sign of the refund. Their customer services dept say there is a problem in the finance dept. I have a horrible feeling they have no money with which to refund people! The only slight consolation I have at this time is I paid on credit card, so I'm not directly out of pocket....yet. I'm planning to report them to Trading Standards and would suggest others do the same, for what it's worth.
  • Hi Devani,

Do you ming letting me know how to contact these same local regulators for me?

I ordered a Fit Bit from them in early May (2 and a half months ago). When it still hadn't arrived 40 days later (and after chasing them on several occasions), I told them that I wanted a refund (which they agreed to).

I have since sent them about 5 emails and had 4 phone calls with their customer services team. There is literally no one that I can speak to there and no explanations being offered as to why the refund hasn't come in yet. They simply apologise and then say they'll elevate the priority of the refund - (ridiculous to promise to elevate the urgency to the same customer countless times right??)

I am so disgusted with the way I have been treated by this business. I was probably being naive before thinking that I could get a refund off these people - (I keep on going back and back) - but am now fairly certain that they have just stolen my money. No item delivered and no refund given - theft.

Anyway, sorry for the rant! Any help you can give would be great. Did you eventually get your item (or a refund?)

If you paid by credit card, start a Section 75 claim.

If you paid by debit card then you may well be outside the chargeback time limit (120 days I think) ... unless you contacted the card provider much sooner.
  • Same for me I was had for £800 after promises of a dispatch and promises of a refund and now they have no website online and no working phone lines. DO NOT GET BAITED BY LOW PRICES. Now I have a long slog to try to get my money back through legal lines. I am Threaders! If I was in Hong Kong now they would have a serious incident to tend with leading to my incarceration.

Similar experience. Ordered goods, read poor reviews and decided to cancel. Refund 'being processed' for the last 10 days. Now the website is down and I cannot even call the. Bunch of crooks!!! If you wish to kiss your money goodbye, buy from Simply Electronics.

I have just received an email informing me that Simply electronics Ltd have filed for bankruptcy

Unfortunately it wont let me copy & paste the email but it states that the company are having a meeting of creditors on 9th August 2016 in Hong Kong.
I have a section 75 claim in process with my C Card company.
Will I still be covered now they have gone bust?

Yes, you should be. The financial status of the company does not change your S75 rights against the credit provider.

I assume your purchase was £100+ for a single item? You need to be careful if not ... S75 has strict provisions; if your claim doesn't meet them then you'd need to look at a chargeback ... for a chargeback the financial status of the company MIGHT matter.
