Simply Electronics - WARNING

Hi folks
ordered a polar m400 sports watch with them a week ago, website said instock and usually dispatched within 2-3 days, checked the online order status and still waiting for dispatch, called up their customer services and got a storyabout how there supplier had some issue with an order and that a new shipment was underway (even though their website still says they have it on stock), they said that it should be with me by next Friday (if it arrives by then that will be 2 weeks and a day from order to delivery), I wish I'd read the reviews before placing the order but I naively thought everything was above board having linked to the sight from google following their shopping links(had nothing but good experiences before and the website looks completely aok)
after waiting for a week I’ve found the reviews and hope I’m among the lucky few who have posted on here where things go smoothly I'll keep you posted0 -
Well received an email saying the item had been dispatched mid week last week and the watch arrived yesterday, 3 working days after they said it would be with me on the call, so nearly 3 weeks delivery time all in from placing the order, I can live with that0

I searched online for the best deal on the Samsung Edge Plus and came up with Simply Electronics. I placed an order on the 15th September 2015 and received an email from Skrill stating "You have successfully made a payment of £527.95 to Simply Electronics". Then on the 17th September I received an email from Leslie Grant Customer Service Executive stating " I am contacting you regarding your latest order. I am sorry to inform you that your order has been placed on hold pending further verification - all we need you to do is to provide us with documentation showing proof of your address and identity". I sent four proofs together with a copy of my driving license. Then on the 18th September I received an email from Leslie Grant stating " Thank you for providing us with the information required to verify your order. Unfortunately, although we appreciate your business, our verification team have been unable to approve your order. As a result, your order has been cancelled and a full refund will be processed as quickly as possible. It's now the 24th September and no refund as of yet. Tried to call at 13p a minute but just put on hold listening to some lousy music until I gave up. Sent various emails without any response.
I will post another review to keep all updated on the response if any I get from Simply Electronics. Next stop my bank to see what I can do to claim the money back.
I cannot understand why I needed to provide proof of identity in the first place. I had after all paid in full. Never been asked before by any company I have purchased from. Very peculier!
If I get my refund I will post a positive review

So you give some Chinaman using a false name you found on the internet all the details he needs in order to open a bank account or credit card in your name?illegitimi non carborundum0

does any one have any updated info on simply electronics
or could you recommend a good company to get a new mobile from cheaper than carephone warehouse, and sim free0 -
Keithbelson - it looks like you've given your identity to them, which is probably worth far more than the 500 quid they were going to steal off you and still might. It looks like this 'company' of thieves spend a great deal of time putting false positive reports on Trustpilot and other sites to keep their ratings looking almost decent.
I tried telling Google that they were supporting these thieves with their keyword promotion thing but no reply. What do they care - they have their own tax scam going on.
It looks like SE will continue to rip people off for years to come. You have to admit it's a great business idea.0 -
Same story - I didnt google company before ordering phone. They are changing stock allocation heading and ignoring requests for refund after avoiding answering questions about stock delivery time etc. I have contacted VISA to try and get a refund from Simply Electronics or use Section 75. This appears to have been going on since at least 2009. SHOCKING !!!!!!!!0

I will do everything I can to help block them!0

I have had four or five items come from this company, yes, takes a bit longer than ones in the UK.
my last order was an Nexus 9 which arrived in a little under two weeks.
Obviously order from SE as it was the best price.
Very happy with the Nexus 9 and it was posted from

WARNIMG-DO NOT USE SIMPLY ELECTRONICS-
I purchased a Sigma 150-500 lens from them, when it arrived it would not work on my camera, I contacted Sigma and was told it may need an update to work om my camera, so I sent it to them for the free update, Sigma phoned me today to inform me that the lens had a faulty circuit board and could not be repaired under guarantee as it was from a grey importer, therefore it would cost me £131:99 to repair, I have contacted Simply electronics to request they pay for the repair and postage, so far I have had no reply from them.0
