  • Avoid the simplyelectronics.net website, it is not worth it.

They are not a UK company, they are a Hong Kong company. UK law will not protect you when they fail to deliver.

You will be liable to UK taxes when you receive goods. They are not cheaper because you will still need to pay VAT.

They will take your money before sending your goods. It is impossible to contact them by phone and get a refund.

    Please avoid this company.
  • This outfit is posing as a UK supplier, buying in Singapore and Selling in the UK. The Nokia 1020 warranty works only in Singapore and is invalid in the UK. The keyboard is set for Chinese simplified and needs to be removed. Microsoft applications do not work because they are looking for South East Asia domains and will not work in Europe.

  • Ordered a Galaxy Note tablet late January and it wasn't delivered in the time specified, however I did contact them and even had a freind in Hong Kong go visit them. They were extremly sorry for the delay saying it was due to the responce for the product which was new Jan 2014. I've had nothing but good contact with Simply Electronics and when the product was available - from USA mind - I had further emails giving where it was coming from and DHL tracking etc, and as I was away from home and my wife received it they emailed to say when it would be delivered and emailed again when delivered and who had signed for it.

Was very, very worried by the many earlier negative posts on here but it your goods are delayed then contact them and they will give you honest information. Well happy with Simply Electronics and will buy again to save pounds. :j

  • Another terrible experience here. Bought a phone, which arrived in good time. Wasn't UK stock but providing it works, that doesn't bother me.

Had to return it after a couple of months as it became faulty. Followed the RMA process and can now assume the phone has fallen into a black hole. Been in email dialog with them for 6 weeks now. They won't give me any indication of whether they have my phone, never mind if they can fix it. Nor will they provide an address or phone number that I can escalate to. Have started a dispute with my credit card provider to get a refund.

    Avoid.

Complete and utter SCAM merchants. Do not use under any circumstance please see the thread I've started about problems I am having with them and Nationwide.
  • on the 19th of january I have decided to purchase phone from Simply electronic believing it was uk based, after 3 weeks of waiting and seeing the priority despatch status I got fed up and e-mailed them requesting refund as I had enough of waiting, they accepted my cancellation and I have been waiting 28 days for a refund, that is until I have decided to threaten them with legal actions ei requesting chargeback and reporting them to HK Consumer Council and with a very bad review as well as reporting them to Trading standards. Within minutes I have received e-mail:

You should have received your refund by now. I have sent an urgent request to our relevant department to find out what is the cause of the delay.

We appreciate the urgency and do assure you we are treating this matter very seriously. We will send you a refund confirmation as soon as possible. I will do my part to ensure minimal delays moving forward in processing your refund.

Once again, I would like to extend our sincere apologies for not meeting your service expectations.

Please let us know if you have any further queries.

    lets wait for the results.
Never ever will I buy from them again or anyone without proper research :(
  • I placed an order for a canon s120 on Saturday. Stupidly didn't think to check reviews for them first. Having done so I immediately placed a cancellation request. Today I've received emails stating they cannot process the cancellation until payment has been made! I've sent a strongly worded reply stating hey are not authorised to remove any funds and that they should simply cancel the order. Surely here is no need for them to remove any actual funds? If they do so having already been told not to am I within my rights to process it as theft? And is there any point talking to the bank at this stage? It was put through on visa debit. I did have to do verified by visa so I don't know if that gives much protection, the visa website is spectacularly vague.

Sorry to disappoint but I received the exact same emails numerous times from them.

You're looking at waiting at least another month for the refund it at all. It's a long hard slog to get your money back.
