Vicki - a quick one... They are replying! I've had 2 responses today.

Great thank you for the help! I'll try and contact the Skrill team :)
  • Ordered a £200 phone from them on 12th Nov, although the web-site claims stock (for delivery in "2-3 business days") they were clearly unable to supply the item and just continued to make excuses (whilst the web-site continued to claim stock and take orders!). I cancelled the order on the 4th Dec and bought elsewhere, it's now 30th Dec and they still haven't refunded me.
Worst online service i have received for as long as I can remember - will never use them again.
  • Hi I ordered my Apple TV on the 2/12/13, the order status has changed so many times, from your order is ready to be dispatched to delayed and back again!! As you can tell I've missed the Christmas deadline! I phoned the sales line on the 16th for it to announce it was having technical difficulties, and now closed, no reply to any of my emails, terrible how can companies be allowed to do this to us!! Lesion learnt! Happy new year all.
  • Well I am what can only be described as 'stalking' them.

I am contacting them every day and checking my order status. It has finally logged as 'cancelling' and I have been advised it can take up to two weeks to process a refund - which I'm not accepting. Apparently it's their systems, however these are the same systems which take your money instantly.

Skrill have been no use as I can't get hold of them via phone and already waited 2 days for a response to the case I logged.

Anyone having issues with simply electronics I advise you hound them

    Chris x
  • I ordered a phone for my daughters xmas present on 01/12 13. I got no delivery date given despite it being in stock!!! Thankfully used my credit card who agreed waiting 2 weeks for a delivery date was suspicious so have refunded my account and raised a dispute with this company. I would advise no one should use this company. EVER.

Well I am what can only be described as 'stalking' them.

I contacted them today and I was in a queue for 80 minutes!!
So I tried their customer service line instead of the sales line and it took me about 10 minutes.
The first man said my item should be delivered by next weekend, and I called them again where a woman said she is not sure at all when I am to get my item, so the first man was blatantly lying!
The lines are really bad considering the company is based in Hong Kong. My Dad called them up and asked to speak to someone higher up such as the manager, where we called at about 11:00 am GMT but they said that there are no other managers or a boss there as it was about 7:00pm for them.
So in order to speak to someone else, I'd have call in the middle of the night; the time in which it's not open! :wall:
  • My story to date:

The prices appear cheap and the site implies they will usually deliver the items within 2-3 working days. The web site shows the items in stock so it is understood that they have the items and can supply in the suggested time.
I ordered an apple ipad air on 01.12.2013 and payment was taken immediately. An email came confirming the order and said delivery was usually in 10 to 14 days. I should have realised at this point but there was still plenty of time for my intended Christmas present to arrive.
You guessed it no ipad for Christmas so emails were sent since no one was available until 02.01.2013. An automated email was sent saying a representative would contact within 24 hours. – Still waiting!
I rang to complain my order still has not arrived on 06.01.2014. I have been promised it will arrive this week. I doubt it. The web site shows my order it a priority one since before Christmas. An email on 26th December promised delivery in next 2-3 days.
Sadly I forgot to use the usual guy with the red hat, white beard and a reliable sleigh!
How do I sum up this company – lies - lies – lies!!
If I had lived in the most remote region of outer Mongolia in the 1800’s I would have expected a delivery before now which suggests they items are displayed as in stock when they are not otherwise any man and his van would have delivered it before now.
The web site still shows my item in stock £20.00 cheaper than I paid and with a suggested delivery of 2-3 working days. If this is true then nobody was working last December and we are on a 2 day working month in January so expect your order sometime in 2014. Please order now for next Christmas and I am almost sure you will usually receive it- maybe!

    My story
I ordered a camera yesterday and payment was taken instantly on my MasterCard. I then read horrific things about them and realised it wouldn't be a uk camera so tried to cancel... And so the fun begins!

I emailed them last night and received a reply this morning advising payment is 'being processed' and if I still wish to cancel email them tomorrow. I hit the roof!

My reply email was stern advising they had my money as confirmed by email and on my account status. I would not change my mind in 24hrs and wanted it cancelling straight away. If it wasn't if take legal action.

I've had two replied a apologising and advising refund will be processed ASAP.

Literally just contacted 'Skrill' advising situation as I figure they will be similar to paypal in the sense they give some protection. Another email has gone to company to advise it doesn't take days to hit the refund button.

I'll update how I get on!

In meantime I'm back to looking for a canon 60d body lol x
  • Placed an order with Simply Electronics for a Nokia Lumia 920 Phone on the 30 Nov ’13, Simply Electronics confirmed that my payment was accepted, which was also transacted the same day.
o 11 Dec ’13, no item received so chased for a delivery date for my order.
o 11 Dec ’13, received confirmation from Simply Electronics that my order had been received and was still processing.
o 12 Dec ’13, I escalated that not only had I not heard back as promised by Simply Electronics, plus seen no sign of delivery , but concern that when I log into my account online with Simply Electronics, it said that “You currently have no outstanding orders’ and “You currently have no order history”.
o 13 Dec ’13, received a response from Simply Electronics saying that my payment had failed to process or was incomplete, therefore I had not been charged and had no pending orders. Suggesting that I completed a new order by PayPal, which I saw no sight of and did not make a second payment for.
o 13 Dec ’13, responded to Simply Electronics chasing my order and saying that I had previously received order confirmation from them, plus the full amount had already been taken from by credit card.
o 17 Dec ’13, following my conversation with my Bank and recommendation that I gave Simply Electronics the original authorisation code to resolve the issue.
o 18 Dec ’13, my ticket with Simply Electronics was removed from their system.
    • 23 Dec ’13, failing to receive any response and also no delivery from Simply Electronics, I then had a second conversation with my Bank and subsequently am following their Dispute process with them.
Based upon my own experience with Simply Electronics of taking my order, taking payment, then cancelling my order with no sign of the product, or any sort of a refund, I would strongly recommend avoiding any sort of business with Simply Electronics.

The one thing I can't really understand about this thread is the sheer volume of posts from single-post posters who appear to have joined MSE just to make that one post.

Virtually every post fits this description, and whilst I don't doubt the overall message about Simply Electronics, the posts are becoming less and less credible and looking more and more like a competitor's campaign.
  • I just want to warn people about the customer service I have received from Simply Electronics. I ordered the item some 32 days ago and have not received anything. I have been in contact with them and it was shipped. However they refuse to contact DPD (the courier) and it was left to us to contact them who have now admitted they have lost the item. I have sent numerous emails requesting they refund or sne another item but have had no contact.

I have rung them several times only to be either cut off or placed on hold indefinitely. If you are 100% certain you will receive the parcel (which you can't be) don't even bother buying from them as if it is delayed or lost they don't want to know. They have my money and it is like trying to get blood from a stone!!!!!

And just to answer Doc N post yesterday, this is a real posting that has happened to me and not some competitors campaign, just like his post sounds like it has come from Simply Electronics themselves!! (Most probably!!!)
