I cant even go to the supermarket, particularily if just going for a wee top up, without spending waaaay over budget.
Luckily one of my friends is going today & will pick me up only what I have asked her to get IYSWIM.

It's daft because I feel really annoyed at myself now.. thinking I could've paid that nearly £40 off the credit card.. but I know that the game will make my girls, and the guys tonight have fun so it's worth it really.. just a bit  to see it like that. But then again that's the point of the spreadsheet, to demotivate me from spending unneccesary money!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

I've never been brave enough to have a spending diary. I've slipped into a bad habit of going to One Stop opposite my work to get lunch and it's rarely under a fiver

oh...my....god. This spending diary is horrific  Certainly making me sit up and take notice though. I generally always do my main spending on the weekend due to work etc.. but here's yesterday's and todays..
20-Feb 15.35
21-Feb 28.95
20th was for lunch (me, brain and the demonites in a tesco cafe ) and a car wash @ £2. Jebus.
Today KK had a party for one of her nursery friends yesterday. So it was broken down like this... £2 entry for Ash into the play place, £1.50 for a coffee for me, £3 on the damn coin operated rides (£1 a time:eek:), 45p for a twix for me, £2 for a drink for ash (she kept the change ) and then I decided to do her a birthday party there as they had a half price offer on (£4.90 a child instead of £9 ) so had to put down a £20 deposit.
Jesus.... it all quickly adds up doesn't it...
Quite shocking that since I started I haven't counted petrol or food that was in my budgets, and yes I still could've paid £81 of m credit card if I hadn't done all that.... and it didn't even feel like I'd spent anything, at yet it's that much gone in the blink of an eye....
PS Edit: I think it says it all by how many 's there are in this post.. LOL
definitely a good time to have started this spending diary to demotivate me from spending...Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

I did mine on spendingdiary.com where you can put in your own categories so you get a proper breakdown of where you are over spending, and you can get weekly, monthly and yearly reports of where you money goes
I was horrified within weeks as well, once its all there in black and white:eek::heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -

I was umming and aahhing on the birthday party. There are approx 23 kids in Ash's class so I'm going to be looking somewhere between £50 and £100 on the day (minus £20 deposit obviously) depending on how many come to the party, and that's at half price! I budgetted for £50 for her birthday, but the way I see it is that it'd be her first 'proper' birthday party. and her first one at school. So I may end up being over budget but at least she'd be having fun and spending it with her friends...and I'd rather sacrifice some of the paying off credit card money to give her a proper party while I can afford it....
I suppose I'm just conscious of what happens if I have to go back on benefits and can't afford to give her the things I'd like to... so want to while I still can :eek:Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
