Well the fact he was actually useful - and it wasn't a Rover must mean some sort of discussion went on.

  • thankyou for all your lovely words. You are all so fab !!

    ooooooooh, my lord............

    I BOUGHT A CAR!!!!!!!!!!!

God, I hope I've done the right thing!!!!

It is the Honda Civic my OH drove past last night. It didn't even get on auto trader before I snaffled it so I can't put a link to it.

It is a P reg 1997 red Honda Civi Coupe. Sixth generation apparently. Low profile tyres and sporty wheels (which cost £400!!!) and a big shiny stainless steel exhaust.....bbbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm....

I was terrified taking it out for a test drive as I haven't driven an automatic but the guy from the garage was brilliant.

It was on at £1,975 and I got it for £1,800 with 6 months tax and a 12 month parts warranty. I pleaded poverty as he didn't want to give me tax at £1,800 but he gave in!! Not much of a discount, but it is under book price and is very very luvverly!!

Insurance will be about £2 a month more, but it should be better on petrol as it is a 1.6 engine.

I played the 'oh my god, this is over my budget' and tried to get it for £1700 and failed but I would have paid full price to be honest - it is the one.

Just checked my bank account - ouch!! Well, not ouch, but a lot emptier than first thing this morning!!!!!

Hope I've done the right thing!!! It feels right though, so hopefully I have done.

Got the email address for the contact at the abbey solicitors so I'm going to email her later and look to get the interest amount corrected and also mention the preparation time and see what she says. I guess she can only say no!!
