  • Please stick with it, we all have our 'down' days!

I realise that after saving and working so hard for so long, the prospect of spending such a large amount on one item can be daunting but you're doing the right thing, do plenty of research and get lots of opinions (but not the BF's!) and then take someone you trust with you when you do go to buy.

Also try asking for a discount or extras if you're paying cash ;)

    Good luck x

The fact that you seem so nervous and reluctant about spending £2000 just goes to show how far you have come on your journey.

I bet it is not really that long ago that the money would have been burning a hole in your pocket and would have been spent without rational thinking and soul searching?

Be proud of the "place" you are in at the moment x

Ooh...no one would have let you do that. We'd have sent a spy just like with OberonSH... ;)
Mad and bizarre as this will sound, the car thing is starting to stress me out.

Just take a deep breath, and relax. You have (in the words of Louis Armstrong) all the time in the world. You may feel the money is burning a hole in your pocket - but it isn't.
I'm scared to spend the money to be honest. I think - spend £900 and I might break down because it is a banger. Spend £2000 and if it breaks down I've put all my eggs into one basket money wise.

But if you spend £1500, then you have a reasonably decent car and have £500 to put it right with - in the unfortunate event it needed it.
Weird that having money and choice can be stressful!

Choice is always stressful. Ever seen a sheep in therapy?

Just keep a list of the cars you looked at - their full details, and keep a note of why you rejected them. If the Civic - or something like it - came up again, you'd be that much further down the decision making.

    Drum roll........

    Dear Oakdale Minx

You want us to come to court with you on the 22 February. Erm, we aren't that keen. How does a cheque for £4693.08 sound???

    Love and kisses

    Dear The Abbey

£4693.08 is ok for starters I guess, however you've ballsed up on the daily interest and it is over £100 short. I'll give you a tinkle about it later.

    Love and kisses

WOW that is great news O_M.

On the car front. Do you have anyone else who knows about cars who could advise you?
HE does not seem to grasp the things that matter to you
    1. You need an automatic
    2. You need a reliable make (not just a cheap deal)
  • FANTASTIC NEWS!

    Really pleased for you!

Well done - it couldn't have happened to a more deserving person!
What with this and the back pay you're on a roll!

Does this mean a rethink on the car situation or is it all going straight at the debt?
