  • Untangling the Christmas tree lights..........arghhhhhhhhhh.......

Getting them on the tree and finding they don't work.......arrghhhhh.....

scratching your arms to bits in the frustration of getting them off again........aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggghhhh (ouch!!)

finding a smashed bulb and then seeing a few bits of glass on the carpet......

and then thinking that you shouldn't have dismissed standing on one of the bulbs earlier when you were untangling them as 'not very important'........:o

Tell me about it, we always argue about putting the lights on the tree! Hate putting it up, but lovely when its done :)

  • It looks very sad standing there 'naked' because I like to put the lights on before the baubles.......I'll have to buy a new string tomorrow unless I can find a spare bulb from somewhere...they are bog standard white ones from B+Q....or I nick my OH's lights as he doesn't bother putting up the tree at his place.......;)
  • Oh no! That's not the sort of 'light bulb moment' you want is it??

  • I decided to look in the desk drawer........

I FOUND THE PACKET OF SPARE BULBS!!!!!:j :T

Now to try and find the missing bulb holder in the re-tangled mess of lights........
  • Well, Operation Christmas Tree was eventually successful!!!

    The Carlton goes today......sad day......

OH said that the reason the car is coughing and spluttering is because I run it very empty and it was pulling all the rubbish from the tank and that it would damage the carburettor.

I replied very quietly but firmly that if he had put petrol in when I told him that I needed some each time over the last few weeks, as agreed, then I would not have to wait until I was running on fumes before I decided that he wasn't going to put any in and that I would have to put some in myself (again).......

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Just had an email from the OU to say that I can cancel the next course I was planning to do without any financial implications, which is a huge relief as it reads differently on the OU website!

So, i'm going to cancel the course for next year until I make a decision about the re-sit. At least I know that I don't have to budget for £1100 worth of course fees over 2007.
  • Hi OM,

I've been reading your diary for the last couple of months and you've inspired me to also be df before my 40th and to do my own diary. I only have 2 years  left to go, so I'd better get my act together.

Sorry to hear about your exam, but you sound like the kind of person who will turn things around - good luck.

I know this is a stupid question (well, I am a man afterall) but why do you bother with the OH? Sorry if I'm out of order there.

    Cheers,
    G
