MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE GRANT CORRECTLY
this is basically because. When I received the form it said nowhere that the internet was by dongle so assumed that would have to have a landline so didn't apply as didn't have one (was also in hospital after a stroke so got husband to fill in) - just for the pc. When received and I found out that was a dongle I was really mad. I wrote to them and explained the situation at the time but was told nope couldn't apply for the dongle which to be honest I think thats stupid.
So make sure things are riight.0 -

Low disposable income may, in many instances, simply be the result of poor money management. Of course it may just as well be due to other matters.
If you have an income that is below that which the government sees as low (which myself and most people posting here do), no matter what you spend to live, you WILL qualify for the grant.
I am disabled but quite young and therefore do not receive an annual heating allowance or many other types of help, although I was able to get this grant. My point is that If you fit the criteria you CAN get the benefit/grant, but if you don't then you're not so badly off as some.
So, as an answer to the question "Where can I get help?" should be Wherever you qualify. Try the Money Saving Expert link below for a benefits calculation:

Good luck.
I do say though this and other 'benefits' on certain benefits get are not fair. I was working 25 hrs a week after seeing the CAB found out that I was working for £10 extra a week only (this didn't include the free school meals healthy start vouchers which would be another £8.90 so really equal). So really this was pointless I know alot of other people feel the same but if they don't qualify for anysort of help income can't be too bad and I wouldn't moan at that lol.
I do say though that now I'm not working due to illness I get more help and the grant so have seen both sides.
Instead of another note, I agree with the older people getting grants and that home schooled kids shouldn't be left out0 -
does anyone know if the pre paid dongle supplied is activated from when you receive it , or when you actually use it , the reason im asking is my brother has just had a new one and has 4 months left on his old one so has given it to us to use , save it not being used , so ours is still in the box and not opened yet , so when we do come to use it in 4 months time will we only have 8 months left on it or the full 12 months , sorry we are new to all this0

i've noticed a few mse'rs are uninstalling the net intelligence i`m curious to know will doing this affect the 1 year warranty if it needs to go in for repair etc... will they start saying as net intelligence has been removed the warranty is void, my friend phoned up home access about facebook etc.. and was told as kids can access gambling sites via facebook  that is the reason they weren't allowing it, but after the year was up they would tell her how to by pass it , i thought that was hilarious:rotfl:they do not want her 13 yr old son on facebook because of gambling etc..bit they dont mind when he's 14 , why do they presume all kids are not monitored by parents:mad:0

Don't get me wrong,it's great that kids should get these but it makes my blood boil that everyone thinks just cos you go to work or work a few more hours over to qualify that you can afford to buy your kids a laptop.0

i removed it as my daughter as used facebook , but is monitored and only uses laptop downstairs , i cant see how removing the netintelligent will void the warranty , as if the pc is going to break down it will break with or without it , as net intelligent is a software , not hardware issue , its our daughters laptop but will be used occasionally by thefamily , and net intelligence stops a lot of things , like banking , or even going onto the national lottery site to check the results , if you monitor your own child i cant see the prob in removing it , i think it can be re installed any time it needs to , when we recived the laptop u have to activate the net intelligent with the code that comes on a piece of paper , once you have activated it there is also a decativation code0
