Scotland and Wales do also have their own governments, so if they want schemes like this it comes out of their own budget, like as someone else said, in Wales prescriptions are free, as decided by the Welsh Assembly.0

I have a 13 year old son who is home schooled. I am unemployed due to the recession and meet all the financial criteria. My son would benefit hugely from the home access grant to enable him to do his on-line assignments and Science tutorials at home. Why does the Governement grant exclude him from the scheme?? He is as financially eligible as any of the other students and one could argue that, as he has no access to computers at school, he will benefit at least as much or more than other students. It makes a mockery of the claim that this is to help ALL underpriviledged children or those who are in financial distress. If this was the case, then Home Schooled Children should also be allowed to apply. Lets start a petition calling for this change to be made before it is too late for our children to benefit. Desperate to help my child.:)
I agree that is so unfair that H'ed kids are not eligible. They, as you rightly point out, would be ideal candidates if ever there was any. But, as this is (apparently) 'Badman's' company giving these out, it does not surprise me that he would penalise Home Educated kids in this way!0 -
I received a pc for my son today. It was from positive it.
The Samsung r519 with the 2 gig memory update
It's fantastic and I have told my son how lucky he is to have got it. It has a parent lock, so he can only browse safe sites.
I know my son and his brother will get lots of use from it but I know a few will use them for themselves or flog em and soon as they can
which is wrong and lots of posters on here have made comments about it.
Not all people are like that though
Shame the few tarnish the majority of good parents0 -

I am having real trouble trying to access the internet with the 3 dongle. It came on once today after around 20 mins, then went off again. The kids are waiting to use it. Any ideas anyone? Will I have to pay to upgrade it? I would appreciate any advice. I have the Samsung r19 from centreprise. I have read back that folks are not happy with the 3 dongle and I also have Net Intellience on it.Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0
