    Found this
How do I activate the Net Intelligence software on my machine?
    - Connect to the Internet (whether T-Mobile dongle, wireless or a wired connection)
    - Click on the Net Intelligence icon on the desktop
    - The Registration Page will load
    - Enter a desired Username and Password
    - A unique activation key is supplied with each unit on an A4 sheet of paper
    - Enter the activation key. This is a one-time only code
    - Click ‘Create Account’
    - Click on the ‘Login Page’ text in order to login

i found it ok, but took me 10 mins to work it out, you have put each page that is blocked into allowed webpages AND safe webpages (not sure it they were the actual names but i had to add each page to 2 parts of net intelligence) although it was only facebook so far that we havent been able to use

  • I applied for this scheme two weeks ago and recieved my barclaycard visa this morning for a laptop worth upto £400.
Completely easy form, and will be going to get the laptop when i see a good deal on the Comet website as it gives upto three months to use the voucher.
May even put this away as a christmas present for the children - does that make me tight??

I hope you aren't serious, if so sorry but that's just wrong.

The scheme is supposed to be to help children with their school work, not to give you a cheap christmas. Why on earth would you apply for a laptop in Feb then keep it boxed up until December when the 12 month warranty would be almost up and your children have missed out on the best part of a year having a computer to help with their studies.

When recipients post stuff like that I can understand why so many people are annoyed at the scheme.

you only have the choice that they have on offer at comet you cant spend it on a good opffer they have that isnt part of the scheme, i doubt they will put them on offer so i think the only choice you have is the acer from comet http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/607509/ACER-EXTENSA-5235-HOME-ACCESS-LAPTOP
i am sure lots of people have given these for presents for their kids, i personally didnt as i didnt pay for it why should i take credit for it? but its better than selling it as some other people are supposed to be doing!

hi. received my laptop this morning but i seem to be having the same trouble as others, with the netintelligence, i tried to unistall it but it's asking me for the password can anyone tell me where i find the password thanks in advance

Password was on a piece of paper in box with laptop from XMA anyway & says ACTIVATION CODES on it.
I'd like to add that I ordered the kids laptop by phone on Tuesday morning & it arrived Weds morning & I was texted to say it would arrive between 10-30 & 11-30 & it did! Very impressed with XMA & although the helpline didn't at first realise the problem with the dongle & Netintelligence when they were busy they did exactly what they said they would & called me back.
I can't say getting the laptop set up was smooth, but all is forgotten now it's up & running & everyone I have called has been extremely helpful & patient

If anybody does remove the netinteligence I would really recomend that they install K9 Webprotection instead as no matter how much you think that your kid will not do it they will as soon as a mate sends them a link and you are not there

K9 is very powerfull and really easy to use and can also block suspicious sites that may contain malware so it really is a great idea for a family computer

    Link - http://www1.k9webprotection.com/

also Microsoft do their own family safety software that does not block as much but when something is blocked they will get a button to click on that lets you enter the password and allow the site or if you are not there it lets them click a button and email you a link that you can use to preview and then allow the site.
