    Hi, welcome to the forums.

I had similar problems with Orange a year ago (not being offered good retention deal), although I was with them for far less time. I only wanted a 12 month contract and a new handset without lock or branding - flat out said they couldn't do that.

I'm on O2 now. Not looking back.

I have a cashback contract which basically works out free over the 12 month period. However, with Orange's poor signal and call cutoffs, I wish I would have paid the full price and got a reliable service.

I was with Orange for years.... am still.

When I wanted a different price plan I was told I had to take out a new contract, new phone and couldn't carry my number over. Stupidly I said ok and agreed. Then tried to cancel the other contract and had a nightmare. Requested the code to unlock the phone to use a different company sim card and after 45 minutes of trying to explain why i thought Orange were crap I finally got given a PAC - not what I'd asked for at all. So rang back and got a recorded message telline me to phone back within certain hours - which was exactly when I was phoning so presumably they couldn't be bothered to answer any phone calls!!

Took a month to get an unlock code and cost me £20 and lots of hassle. This time, I used the thread on here and the website and did it for free. Just about to ring Orange and tell em I'm off to Vodafone as they have a much better deal for me and I can quote my hubby as referring and get him a bonus and get a new phone and ... GET A SIGNAL on my phone at work and home!!!!

And the message they play about being dedicated to customer service when you're on hold for nearly an hour - is a huge fib!

I am leaving Orange too. When I requested my PAC no they did not even offer me anything to stay. The cust serv guy told me ' You have to do what 's the best for you' - Isn't he right?

I find orange by far the best network. generally their staff are far more informative than any of the others. If you went to a reputable shop you can ask them to sort out any problems you have and let you know if there's a better deal. Also factor in signal strength where you need to use the phone. whats the point in having a great deal if you have no reception to use it?:p
:p It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

i had no problems with o2 and they were so desperate to keep me they changed my plan to one that was 19.99 which i get half price AND they credited my account with £100 - so basically i kept that old contact and only paied £20 for the additional 2 months.
  • I've had no problems with Orange and I would have stayed with them if only they offered me a decent retention deal.
I'm now looking at o2 400 on a 12 month contract, the thing is I was going to go with e2save or onestopphoneshop for there cashbacks but just having read some threads i'm not quite sure now.
  • Hi
I have just joined Orange, (phones not arrived so I could cancel) and I have noticed theres alot of negative talk on the board here about them. I use to be with them sometime back and they where not too bad then. Whats so wrong now? (should I jump to O2 instead)

The choice is 02 or orange as I cant see anyone else giving an £200 video Ipod away.

The plan I have gone on is:
"Orange Canary £40 gives you 300 inclusive anytime, any network minutes to UK landlines and mobiles plus when connecting to Orange this month receive 120 extra cross-network minutes per month for the first 6 months and a bonus of 500 extra Texts messages per month making this tariff have 600 text messages per month for the first 18 months and 100 there after plus 75 Orange to Orange off-peak minutes** plus 1 Magic number and Free Photography proposition for 3 months"

    o2 got any better????
