There is no such thing as a PAC code!
A Port Authority Code allows you to port your number across to a different network.

I used to have Orange as they offered the best deal at the time. Halfway through my contact they did something to a local transmitter which stopped me getting a decent signal at my house. O2 are the best, I am going back to them after my contact runs out with 3Wycombe Till I Die0

I have actually joined orange on an 18 month contract(gulp). It was a good deal. 14 months free on an 18 month contract plus the SE w300i which is going on fleabay and this will hopefully make it 18 months free on an 18 month contract.
Why Orange? you may be asking well...
none of the current cashback websites offer tariffs with a large number of texts (except 3 and T-mobile but their reception is crap in my area). Plus orange are giving 500txts free as extra on 18 month contracts. So 200 mins and 575txts on a 18 month free contract ....not bad eh?"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

WARNING ABOUT ORANGE ! I purchased orange contract phone through carphone warehouse and 2 days after getting it returned it. Never made any calls or texts. Orange have charged pro rata line rental for the 8 days it was 'active' even though they activated the phone before i actually received it and had a chance to look at the contract that went with it ! The office of fair trading have said that the contract is not valid because didn't have a chance to see it before it was activated but orange not budging !!! Carphone warehouse have been excellent and offered a voucher for the £7 or so difference but not the point. Orange operating illegally in this respect so BEWARE - wouldn't touch them with a barge pole - if return a phone cancel your direct debit before they can try and take money this way. Good Luck all fingers crossed the office of fair trading will take this up on my behalf because am sure that not the only person being ripped off !!!0

Called Orange today to try and reduce my bill. The contracts they are offering at the moment seem reasonable value for money. I regularly spend around a £100 pound a month on my contract, which i could reduce to £30 using the web exclusive "Raccoon deal" which would give me 500 mins and 1100 texts.
However, as i am in an 18 month contract with them, i can apparently not switch till november. I argued that i was told that signing an 18 month contract would be beneficial to me, and it clearly hasn't been because if i had signed a 12 month contract i would be able to switch now and save a small fortune every month. Operator agreed with me, but said there are "rules and regulations". I asked her what these were and she didn't seem to know.
I am fuming with orange because of this, i have been with them for around 5 years and spent thousands on phone bills with them, and yet they won't let me switch to a contract they offer all their new customers.
I am now seriously considering buying out my contract (as much out of principle as money saving) but could only find the stupid "animal" contracts listed on their site. Does anybody know what the cheapest contract is that i could switch to in order to buy it out?
Thanks for your help0 -
lancastercat, ask for the OVP tariffs when you want to change tariff. The OVP O2 and OVP T-mo have 20 pound per month tariffs.0

I'm after a K800, I've been with orange for 7-8 years and at the moment my average monthly bill is £35-40.
I phoned up telling them I wanted my PAC code and sure enough I got asked what deal I'm looking to move to. After I told them about the deal, free phone, 9 months 1/2 price line rental...
They said they couldn't even get me the phone for free and that the deal i've told them about must be for 18 months and not 12 months as I mentioned.
Whatever...just give me my PAC code, I hope i'm not going to be waiting forever for this.
Oh hi this is my first post.0
