I'd stay with vodafone if i were you, no ques on CS lines and english people on the other end.

Totally agree!! I have contacted Vodafone's customer services recently and have found them very helpful, and I never had to wait in a Q for them to answer either. The operator that answered my call was definately in Scotland and it makes such a difference to speak to someone based in the UK.

    Good work Vodafone!

Phoned Orange customer service yesterday to try and change my service plan and upgrade my phone as I'm out of contract and they could not care less about retaining my custom - in fact they actively tried to get rid of me.

What is the matter with them? All I did was quote a Vodafone deal and phone I'd seen to see if they can match it, and all they said was that phone will cost £79.99 and didn't offer me any alternative service plans.

Even though, my phone bills are only £20-£25 per month they made no attempt to keep me - is it really that unprofitable for them? Their whole attitude was 'you're trying it on', yet I'd see the deal I'd quoted online with Vodafone with the phone which they said would cost £79.99, for free!

Didn't even offer me one of their own plans as an alternative, it was just straight through to disconnections. Well, screw them, if that's the way they treat existing customers they can forget it. They may not care becasue I'm a low user, but I will be passing this on to any firends and family I have on Orange as well.

Has Orange gone down the drain, i ve been with orange for 8+ years and they used to be great for sorting out deals at end of your term but since the 241 film offer started they dont seem to give you any decent offers.

For years i used the "disconnect me" line to get the best deal but now they seem happy to let me go.

i've also found this decline in orange CS. i've been on orange for 6 years and my dad for 10+ yet over the last 2 years - coincidentally coinciding with the takeover by france telecom?!? - their customer service and retentions offers have been poor without serious haggling, persistence and repeated phone calls. furthermore, they never call you back. i want to leave but they have offered 750mins&750txts for £35 on a 12month contract after persistent haggling (also im a band 5 high user) so i think im going to have to stay!

I have also had the same bad experience when trying to renew with Orange recently. They wanted to charge me £129 for the phone I was interested in despite the fact that if I was a new customer signing up for an identical package I'd get the phone for free! I'm off to another network.

Its been said time and time again, Orange CS have gone down the drain. There Retention deals are poor, handsets are expensive, there staff are not interested in keeping you as a customer etc etc.... The list goes on and on!
My advice to any Orange customers out there who's contracts have expired "Get hold of your pac code" This network is pants! Get yourself over to O2 who actually listen to customers, have better deals, better retention deals and UK Call Centres!!!

Of course the above is my opinion on O2, others may have had a bad experience with them. On the whole though there 100 times better than Orange!

I think they've got a threshold somewhere near £30 p/month If you're under that then they'll offer you naff upgrades and aren't bothered if they lose you. They've really gone down the pan in terms of service.

Nope, they don't even do that anymore - I regularly spend £100 plus with them, and when i called to buy out my contract with them last week, they didn't even try!

If their phone service is anythign to go by, I dread to think what the broadband would be like - and I'm with NTL!
