Evening all,
Well the snow has stopped here and have just heard my childrens schools are open tomorrow but the other 2 in the village are shut  (cant push a buggy in this so i think the little ones will be sledging to school)
It's Logans first day at big school tomorrow (primary), i cant believe how the time has flown and i also dont know how i will fill my time not having the nursery runs to do :T
Went to tesco this afternoon for some cat and rabbit food took Logan (4) and Elizabeth (1) on the sledge but on the way back relegated them to walking and put the shopping on the sledge :rotfl:
Just had pot roast beef, hm cauliflower cheese, brussles, green beans, sweetcorn and parsnips for dinner (i had quite a bit of veg to use up :rotfl: and it was delicious.
Hugs to those in need, there seems to be a few of you today and my condolences to you Taplady xI will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!

Well, I had DS school closed and DD school open today, so that was fun trying to sort out. Walked DD to school in the snow, and luckily my ex father in law was able to have DS, and came over in his 4x4 to get him, so I was able to go to work. I was late, but I got there! Snow doesn't stop the criminals unfortunately! :rotfl:
Dealt with a prisoner, did some paperwork, then was allowed to go early, so got home just as DS and DD arrived home with their grandad (he had kindly picked her up from school for me).
Don't think in-laws can have kids tomorrow if either/both schools are shut, so not sure what I will do. I do leave kids here on their own if I am shopping, or after school for no more than an hour, but don't want to leave them all day as don't think they're quite old enough for that. Work are being good about it, and understand people have kids and can't get in, but I've got 2 people due back on bail tomorrow and a complicated file to do that I have to get in by the weekend, so don't really want to be off if I can help it.
Retrieved my frozen food from next door and loaded up my fridge freezer, so no more trips out into the freezing garage!
MSD - hope you're ok, come back soon.0 -
Well DGS Danny was let home at 3.00.p.m. in West London, and got to my house at just after six to pick his car up.He made it half way home then had to abandon it and walk the rest of the way.The snow is coming down very thick at the moment, second lot today, and is around 5 -6 inches.Son-in-law made it home from the Isle of Sheppey thank goodness, and DD and youngest DGD are home as well so half the family are indoors at last .
My youngest DD had to stay in her office to tie up some loose ends as she had a house sale today(she is a part-time estate agent) so she didn't leave Chatham til 5.00 and its only three miles away and she is still not home yet.
I believe she is stuck by the Medway tunnel and the going is very slow.Hopefully she will make it home within the next hour.
I had a phone call from my friend June in Hospital at Dartford and they may do the biopsy tomorrow depending on how she is .She had a lumbar puncture yesterday, and they are still awaiting the results.Thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers.
I am just off to have some tea, and I really fancy something light for supper so I will have a couple of boiled eggs and some toast I think.
Hope everyone gets their families home safe and sound tonight and you all keep wrapped up warm.
Cheers JackieO0 -

DG - sorry about your appointment - face lift will have to wait!:D;)
Jayward - (((hugs)))
have completely forgotten everything else I wanted to say as DHs friends brother just phoned to talk about what happened and its all gone from my mind.
We decided not to send DS to college tomorrow as forcast bad and I dont need the stress of worrying about him again just atm.
take care all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Well, made a pasta sauce from a tin of tomatos, some soft cheese with garlic and herbs, basil and black pepper.
Bf loved it and even ate the extra that I had set aside with lunch tomorrow in mind!
He came home from work early, they've had to close the call centre due to the weather, must be bad coz they normally like to work them hard no matter what, lol.
We're keeping an eye on the conditions in Newcastle and Heathrow airports for his flights on Sat, currently all the ones from Newcastle to Heathrow are cancelled! Fingers crossed for Sat, I'll miss him loads but he's really looking forward to it.
Anyways, was just so chuffed with myself for making a meal from nothing much (all down to you lot!) that I had to post.
*hugs* for anyone needing/wanting them and hope you all stay safe and warm in the snow x0 -

Evening. Had busy day - took kids out on the sledge which DD wasn't overly impressed with after a while. On the way back there were a group of young girls and they had sledge-envy LOL! Ours is a wooden sledge that you sit on rather than these plastic ones and all you could hear was them cooing at DS who was sitting on it and saying how they wanted one like that! Had to rain on their parade as this sledge is older than I am (34 years!) - must be from the 50s or 60s I reckon, made in Austria according to the label on it. Still going strong which is nice
Had a new toy delivered todayOrdered a small food processor from Amazon the other day and it came this afternoon. Can't wait to put it through it's paces although H has already managed to slice his hand cleaning the blade, cue lots of bleeding!
No more snow for us until Saturday (if one believes the BBC forecast) but it's blinkin' cold. Nursery is open tomorrow so at least DS can have a run around there. We had slightly more snow than I realised once we got outside - must have been a good 4-5 inches. Can't see it thawing anytime before the weekend. A poor black bird was trying to get at my nut feeder - put out some raisins and some bread but not sure of the birds have seen it - probably end up just feeding the stupid fat pigeons......
Jayward - Not much I can say to make you feel any better but hugs to you xx
Taplady - hugs to your H xx am very sorry to hear about his friend.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Evening everyone
Another late one from me.
Been stuck indoors all day today due to the snow and not being able to take ds2(9) out in his wheelchair. He is getting fed up of not being able to play in the snow due to his broken leg. He is now managing to put some weight on it, but I am so scared of him slipping and doing more damage. I hate being stuck inside all day and as he has ADHD he isnt burning his energy off at all and is only sleeping for 7/8 hours and that is with his medication to help him settle. I have ordered a sledge with handles which I am hoping may be delivered tomorrow(ever hopeful!) so that he can sit on it and I can pull him along on the flat slowly just to get him out in the fresh air.
I have been trying to sort out some tuition at home for him since his accident in the middle of November, his teaching assistant was coming in before christmas for approx 3/4 hours per week when she could be released from school, but has not come this week due to the weather. His allocation at school is 18 hours p/w 1:1 but they are abviously using his resource elsewhere. Anyway an assessment has been set up for a home tutor to come from the hosp next Monday now, they were going to come this week but this has now cancelled due to the weather:mad:
Decorations are now all down and need to really bottom the house tomorrow. WM has been on again, just trying to get everything dry is the problem. This evening had omlettes with cheese mushrooms and gammon, they were delicious and much better than the last time I attempted them, think possibly due to my sale purchase of new omlette pan. Going to make some vegetable soup in slow cooker overnight or possibly lentil and veg.
Hugs to anyone that needs or wants one. Take care especially if you are having to go out and about.

Hugs to all who are affected in any way by this awful weather...my nephew left Dublin at 9am to get his 12noon flight to LA....sat on the tarmac in Heathrow for 7 hours before BA cancelled the flight! When he rang he wasn't sure what was happening, is probably going to go to DD2 who is in Highbury which is only a tube ride away, has to find out first what is happening about his flight.
Very cold here to-day, DD4 and DGS2 were due back to school to-morrow but that has been postponed until Monday....lots of children would come a distance to both schools so no point in opening with only maybe very few pupils. We had more snow to-day and chaos ruled at rush hour around Dublin. It is somewhere in the region of -8 at present so not looking forward to trip to hospital to-morrow with OH for his Warfarin check....by the way someone asked me the other day what INR meant and I have to confess that I have forgotten, OH is supposed to have a level between 2 and 3, last week it went to 5.5 Monday it was 1.4 so a bit of jiggling has to be done with his dosage until it levels out again...
OH bought 2 ham hocks this morning and we had one for dinner with cabbage and potatoes, cooked both so I reckon that we will have another dinner and quite a lot of soup, I think a bargain at €2.98 for both hocks.
Csarina...I can imagine how you felt, hugs.
Hugs to all in need or want of one to-day, even if only for warmth! Welcome to newbies...Diva, hope that you are feeling better, do use our shoulders to cry on if need be, you are, as others have said always there for us, so let it be payback time!
