Updated message :Move has been cancelled by her movers as their containers are stranded all over the place, and Westerham where she is moving to is quite snowed up. Luckily my sis-in-law phoned me just as I was loading my car with essentiials so at least I hadn't left .So here I am back indoors looking at the slight snow falling in my garden. think I'll put a pot of veggie soup on in my SC to keep the cold at bay over the next few days.Looks like a bit of reading to catch up on and some R&R is on the cards. At least I am in the warm and have no need to go out to the shops at all.

    Morning all,

    We have lots of these:snow_grin

Kids needless to say are off school. I have no idea where any of them are at the moment. Well, I have some idea-they're out playing in the white stuff of course:)

OH has gone to work in Brum as usual. He can't understand what all the fuss is about. His office is in Erdington just off the M6 and we live just off the M5 so he does have a really easy journey but still, if it were me I'd have stayed at home.

I've just placed an online order with Ocado for next Monday -just in case there's still snow and ice about.

    I've made some bread.
We had a hot breakfast of beans on toast plus a rasher of bacon.
For lunch I will do some baked potatoes with cheese.
Supper- I was planning smoked mackerel, coleslaw and baked potatoes for tonight but I think something hotter would be nicer so I might make potato, smoked mackerel and onion hotpot instead with a couple of veg.

Hope everyone is coping with or enjoying the snow, sorry if you're having a bad time.

    Sorry rant coming up...........

We have been sitting waiting for transport to the hospital for OH at 9.15 he was told it was on its way to us from the next village.........10.10 I phoned and spoke to a very officious foreign lady.......eventually after a lot of tiss tossing about she agreed to contact the transport people and see what was going on. OH's appointment was for 9.30 - when she phoned me back she said the transport was at Hinkley......which has a lot of snow.....for heavens sake that is right the otherside of the City and some.....what on earth were they thinking about I really do not know........I am so crtoss I could spit a brick. I have enough on my hands as it is without this. We have had to wait 16 weeks for this appointment...........the NHS stinks!!!

Sorry...............steam coming out every orrifice just now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having not had a good night and getting up at 7am to 'be ready for transport from 8am onwards' I am about ready to go back to bed!!! We could have stayed in bed and kept warm, I would have saved on the heating bill, should I send it to the hospital management committee do you think??????????

    Morning

Loads of snow here, luckily theres no need for us to go out, so we have decided to make a start on decorating the hall, stairs and landing, about time too!!!

    Lunch - beans on toast
    Dinner -Shepherds pie and veg

thats all fairly easy, thought I had a shep pie in the freezer but we must have eaten it, still got a couple of the pasta bakes left, no more mince but lots of pork chops, steaks and a neck of lamb so plenty of stuff to get started on tomorrow.

WM is doing its stuff I really need to get some ironing done, OH has just handed me a scraper so I guess thats a hint:rolleyes: to get off here and go get started on the walls.

    WELCOME Gemma
SunnyGirl - (((hugs))) for you and your familyx

Its very quiet out there today the little school down the road is closed and no traffic about just the occasional person braving it to the paper shop, rather them than me snow's too deep and still coming down.
Take care if any of you do need to go out above all wrap up warm.

Jackie O Prayers being said for June here.

I have just put together a mixed veg soup in the slow cooker so it can do it's thing for the day then be ready for tomorrows lunch (and probably the day after's too!)

DH has gone to the care home I'll go later today maybe with my SIL who is also off work as the court where she works has had to close to all cases due to not enough staff/judges being able to make it in.

    Morning all :)

Busy morning so far, working with the girls. They're still trying to push for a 'school closure', but I didn't budge :D They had enough time off over christmas.

Anyway, Joan of Arc was born on 6th January, so we've looked at her story and I've left them with stuff they can do on their own now.

Cleaning wise, the house is doing ok, just bits of putting away, which the girls can do, and folding the dry bedding. It will take a couple of days to dry, but I noticed some of it is.

I was reading an old thread last night - Black Saturn's meal planner, and we're going to make the fruit cobbler today, as that was a popular choice amongst MSE'ers back then :)

Tea will be turkey curry with naan, which will then see the last of the christmas turkey.

We've had quite a lot of snow overnight and I'm a bit worried about our local chemist delivering my repeat prescription. It should be ok, as cars are moving outside, but I will be happier once I know it's here.

Hugs to those who need them.

Have a good day all, and do be careful if you are out and about.
