Well we are not further forward in one respect but are in another.
The transport finally arrived just after 10.30am, very snotty driver, drove like a lunatic, never put the hand brake on when stationary, I was glad to get to the hospital. My first port of call was the toilet, when |I got back OH had disappeared, Mr Rae had been waiting for him to arrive so he went straight in.
After a lot of discussion with the neurologist the numb thigh is due to a trapped nerve, as to the dizziness and nausea, its not migraine, or any of the inner ear problems, Mr Rae has referred OH back to Dr Fancourt, he thinks its his blood pressure, despite him taking fludro cortisone, so in a way we are back to square one, we know what its not, but do not know what it is.
We had to wait 2 hrs for a lift back, my blood sugar was very low, I had not taken anything to eat with us, although I did have a boiled sweet by the time we arrived hone at 2.40pm I was almost in a state of collapse. Had to ram a piece of bread and butter in my mouth very quick…….a large bowl of soup, another round of bread and butter and an apple seem to have done the trick. I cannot go for any length of time without food.
We had quite a fall of snow during the night and first thing, the main roads are fine, but the side roads treacherous…….even the ambulance had a job on the little hill at the back of the house.
Off to B & Q its wrinkles day and I need to get a decent power drill, the one I have is battery powered, ok for small jobs but no good for anything that requires a bit of ‘punch’.
The sun is out and the snow melting, but with freezing temperatures forecast for tonight, I will not be going far tomorrow. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Afternoon all
Getting into work was terrible this morning, buses not running normal timetable and they are only running from certain bus stops. It took me ages to get home last night, not looking forward to getting home tonight.
Sun is out ans shining though so that's a good thing. I LOVE the snow but its a pain for getting to work. Mam's school is shut for the rest of the week now.
Hope everyone is keeping safe and warm today. Checked up on my Grandma and she has plenty food and the fire going, bless her xx0 -
Large pot of lentil soup made, used green lentils for a change and used up some leek, onions, carrots and potato to make it.
Am hoping Dd (15) will realise what a difference decent boots can make and will let me order her some online later.
Found some nan bread in bread container so might make curry to go with it tonight - have chicken pieces, can tomatoes and onion and spices etc .
DH still happily absorbed in sorting out his study and planning what he neeeds to do by end of the month.
Package from Lush arrived - lip balm is really helping my very dry lips, Retro shower gels have been hidden away (for me) and £10 worth of bath bombs and soap arrived with it as a gift.
Gave DD(20) her choice of bath bomb so she is luxuriating in a long, peaceful bath at the moment."This site is addictive!"

I'm back!!
I had a fab holiday! New Zealand is beautiful! :j
Had bit of a drama getting home as Gatwick was shut due to snow so we were diverted to Birmingham. Then they tried to bus us all to Gatwick!I escaped and caught train home, as Birmingham is lot closer to Swansea than Gatwick is!
I got upgraded to Buisness class for free for part of my journey home too
I'm rather tired and spaced ot after 2 days of travel, so will post again tomorrow
Happy new year all too!

Glad you had a good time Flutterby. One of my best mates is from NZ, her mam and dad's house looks gorgeous!!
Happy New Year to you too0 -
Found some squishy tomatoes at the back of the fridge so roasted them in olive oil and garlic and then made them into soup - not a lot of it but stuck some chillies and lemon juice in there and it's so tasty. Saving it up for a different snowy day!
Snow is just starting again here, not too much at the moment but...0 -

Welcome back - and what a welcome! Weather couldn't be more different.0 -
DS and I off today. He's gone to the park with buddies and the sledge this afternoon (he's 16!). Full of a big bowl of home made mushroom soup. I did too much cornflour to thicken, didn't really need it, so made some chocolate blancmange for pudding tonight.
DD managed to get back from her friend at Lancaster and into work, Not sure how she will get home. I'm not driving!
I'm sitting on the sofa with the laptop. A few minutes ago I looked out and saw 'my' blackbird looking where there had been bread a few days ago,. I went and found him some.
Garden full of snow and street full of snow. Waiting to hear the news on school/transport for tomorrow. DH in the east so looks like he might get travel problems tomorrow. He is supposed to be coming home tomorrow night.
Done a freezer audit this afternoon. THis morning we got the tree lights off and the tree into the garden.
Friend over the road coming for pedicure tomorrow, she won't have to cancel on grounds of transport!
Mummy blackbird just arrived."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Sounds like you had quite a morning. I see mr Rea for one of my conditions and I think he is the best doctor and so kind! Im sorry you didn't get the answers you were hoping for.
Well all my brood are at home from school and college as 7 inches of snow and I think its set in for a few days. We are ok for food as freezer full and cupboards bursting. I have built it up over the past year so I'm really pleased as like others there has been panic buying. My DD friend (17) called as she had no food in her house. This is not the first time and I really wonder what her mother is up to (she says trying not to judge). DD set off down the hill with a bag of food which I know will be appreciated.
Thanks to everyone who supported me with my DS1 with comments and PM's. We are leaving it now as he doesn't want the hassle and tbh I have too much else going on. He thinks he needs a change and needs to start looking. As I said to him he will always have a roof over his head and food to eat. It might be a God-send as no money means no partying so he might get out of a bad cycle. I have warned him I cant subsidise that but will help him to continue studying which he has agreed to.
Keep safe and have fun in the snow xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Afternoon all.
Late post from me today, as I woke with a migraine, so that put me all behind.
Worried myself sick about Mr LW driving 30 miles to w*rk in the snow, but he got there OK. We have an agreement that he sends me a text when he arrives, as I'm such a chronic worrier (suffer from severe anxiety & depression).
Once the zig-zaggy lights from the migraine went away, I got on with today's Flylady list, and did pretty well, I think; the lounge is now positively sparkling!:D
Thankfully we went to Morries yesterday afternoon, and the fridge and freezer are now straining at the seams, so if the worst comes to the worst, I can keep us fed for quite some time. Tonight's dins is the 2nd half of yesterday's Shepherd Spy; and if we want a pud, there's still some HM Xmas Pud, as I made loads and there's only 2 of us.
Got to do the bins tonight, as the dustmen are due tomorrow (post-Xmas schedule, Tuesday is our normal day) but I think it'll be wait'n'see if they actually get here.
Right, I'm going to treat myself to a wee manicure, as my nails have started splintering, so I'd better get on with that.
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today, esp. Csarina, Diva, SG, Susie Labrador, JackieO's friend, Pen-Pin and all who are sad, hurting or unwell. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
