Even more snow here, we've got about 8" which is a real pain. Poor DS2 was up to his knees in snow going to school this morning, I may keep them off tomorrow if the school is still open. We live about 1.25 miles from school, and they usually walk it easily but it is so much harder in the snow (and having to carry spare shoes /socks / trousers) I continued to the supermarket for a few bits and pieces. I am very glad that we have a milkman as it makes life much easier in this weather. The sun has come out and it's not as cold as it was. I need to find some snacks for DS2 on the way home as he claims to need more energy to get up the hill.
My parents are still stuck in Liverpool, they can't get home and are staying in a hotel until the flight can take off. I've got an appointment in town this afternoon so have to leave in a minute. It takes so long to get everything done at the moment that I'm not getting the housework done!

Well, I've just had to put the heating onto constant for the day as me and the cat were freezing waiting for it to come on on the timer!

Loads of snow here still and there was more last night, more forecast for tonight too. Hoping my bf will be able to fly out on Sat, seems to be a lot of airports experiencing problems today.

Still just trying to dwindle down the food in the flat before the three weeks away, tempted to buy some bread but trying to be inventive instead! Had veggie fingers for lunch from the freezer and I think it'll be pasta for dinner tonight with some soft cheese that needs using up.

Been to check on the old lady next door but she's fine as her family live close by and have been bringing her stuff in, nice to see so many people have been checking in on people.

Went shopping with my mam a couple of days ago to stock them up so they don't have to head out. My poor dad is pretty much stuck in the house as it's almost impossible to get the wheelchair out in this. He can walk for short distances but not so much on the ice and snow. Worried about my mam slipping and hurting herself as she managed to fall over at the end of August without the aid of ice and it took most of Sept for her leg to heal up. Will be heading back there on Friday (weather permitting!) with the cat.

Hoping to have a coffee with my friend tomorrow afternoon but again that will be dependent on the weather.

Have heard that I might be starting my new job on Feb 1st, was hoping it would be quicker but never mind. Might call some agencies on Mon and see if I can get anything temporary until then coz I'm bored! No studying to do (been at uni for 5 years so this is very strange!), and I think my brain might seize up if I don't use it soon, lol.

*hugs* for everyone who needs/wants them. You're all in my thoughts. Keep warm and safe!
  • Hi Guys!

Nurse was able to get out to me this morning, so pleased about that as I had a very bad night. My glands are up on the left side and feel abit rough, so hopefully not coming down with anything.

School & DD have just text to say that the school is closing from 12.30 due to severe weather coming in. It has been snowing all morning and is freezing!

WM has been on and TD. OH is doing some ironing this afternoon as there is lots to catch up with. Oven was cleaned this morning.

Anyway, just waiting for DD to text once she is off the bus and OH will walk up to meet her.

    Keep warm everyone.

    Hugs

  • well Mr S rang to say they would not be able to deliver to me today.....I was expecting that really.
Good job OH is off as have had to go to local shops to buy things for the week...luckily the freezer is well stocked so just needed fruit and veg and bits.....came to almost £50 though:eek: am gutted when I think of how much I get from Mr S for that :o.
People are panic buying though as no milk or bread and loads of shelves empty.......lucky we have a BM;)

Car snowed in here too - even saw the Lord Mayor's car stuck at the Civic Centre as I [STRIKE]walked[/STRIKE]trudged into town.

Just needed some vegetables as the freezer is stuffed with meat and the cupboards are full of stuff.

Good to hear that everyone is coping. Whilst we have about 6 inches the sun is out and the snow is beginning to drip off the trees.

My thoughts to those who are having difficulties.

Csarina is there no chance of calling the hospital and speaking to the Drs secretary to see if you can just go and wait as there may be others today or tomorrow who cant make it? and you can use that appointment

Schools have been shut by us, so DDs are now outside playing in the snow, with friends.

It does them good to grab a bit of fresh air, but typical how they hate going out when it's cold, yet a bit of snow sees them wanting to be out for hours :D

I'm going to make them some biscuits, for when they come in. Freshly made biscuits with a cup of hot chocolate will warm them up.

    Hi everyone,

We've had a few inches of snow and I would normally walk into work but i can't tolerate a closed shoe on my sore foot so I had to come in the car. I'm hoping the snow holds off until its time to go. DH went in to London by train but is now on his way home to work from there. Ds is the one i worry about most but he got into work for his 6.00 am shift and hopefully will be able to leave before it gets too bad again. DD is cross that its snowing so much while she is away, she loves th esnow and hopes for it every year but this is the first time its been so bad here.

OSiness is going along quietly in the background. Am flyladying and have joined the Tesco diet website which I must say I am impresed with. They give you a menu plan but you can then change meals or ingredients for others that you might prefer. Usually on prescribed diets they include things I either can't (peppers) or won't (cheese) eat. Will see how it goes.

I was given a jigsaw roll for Christmas which means I can enjoy the OS pastime without having to worry about leaving the incomplete puzzle out.

    Afternoon everyone!

Very snowy here, don't think anything can get in or out of our road! So won't be at work tonight!

OS today has involved making a lot of hot choc for cold children! ds and his mates have now taken over the sitting room and x-box, dd1 is painting and dd2 and dd3 have gone for a walk with friends!

Going to keep warm and cosy, will have a catch up in a bit with another hot drink! xx

They let us out of work early - thank goodness - the roads where I live are terrible. Going into work this morning was an experience to say the least ....

Anyway, am home now having a lovely hot cup of tea ...

I really hope that the snow is finished ....
