Can't really add anything contructive to the good advice already given but just wanted to say what a lovely, level headed, caring Mum you sound like and what a total !!!! your ex sounds.

Man on The Moon - sorry to hear that you were left too and thanks for taking the time to reply.

Be sure to let us know. Nothing like hearing about an ending someone wants, so best of luck with tracking him down!

I wonder if you could track him down via searches on the internet?

Have you actually tried searching his name together with the company name and see if it unearths any documents which would point to a department that he works in? (BTW put his first and last name in between speech marks to keep the two together)

You might have to look through a few pages, but you might get lucky.

Thank you Gingin, that's much appreciated.

Man on The Moon - glad to read that things worked out good for you too!

Hi Steel - I had given up searching for him after the tracing agency tried and failed - is it worth me trying again myself do you think?

  • Wow; what a shock.

No real advice to give, but just wanted to say that he must know with a significant degree of certainty that at least one of your children would make you aware of his contact. Which could mean any number of things to him simply wanting to get in touch with his children, to actually wanting to get in contact with you etc. Just worth thinking about. I would suspect he is awaiting your contact given his recent action.

    Well, well, well!

I did as Steel suggested using the speech marks and have found a page with his name, his company name, his job title, - but nothing else, when it says click on full profile, it asks me to join and I'm not sure what the site is - looks like some kind of job site.

Says what his job title is too!

I've saved the page - something else to show solicitor - I'd like to know what the bloomin' tracing agency were paid for! lol

Are you 100% sure it is their father who is the person making contact?

Just a thought, since there may be some mileage in seeing if you can get outside help in finding out more about his whereabouts if you think there is any kind of possibility that he is not who he says he is, ie if you are worried that your children have been targeted by an unknown adult especially since they haven't seen their dad for so long.

Technology marches on and so do networking sites! It could be a business networking site - similar to I guess to facebook but 99% about making business contacts. I'm not sure if you have to pay or if you can go on with a basic profile for free, although of course you'll want to probably make up you profile if your do.

Keep on digging and sifting through. There's gold nuggets in them there searches!

    Thank you Steel

If you hadn't suggested using the speech marks, I'd never have found that page!
