    Okay starting this next week, the plan is:

    tums bums and thighs class on tues night
    gym on wed night
    gym on friday sometime
    and zumba on sunday!

    Happy New Year all!

    I managed 4x 1 hour+ swims last week - am quite pleased with myself but there's been lots of alcohol and chocolate consumed so it was damage limitation and nothing more really!

    Been for swim this morning for 1 hour, pump this evening. There's a new timetable for classes at the gym coming out some time this week so at the moment it's still on the limited Xmas timetable. So I'll swim every morning and apart from the pump that may be all this week.

    Here's to another motivated year!

    Well off to a good start to 2011 with 3x excercise done.
    SandyC I would love to go swimming before work, but it takes such a long time to straighten my hair. I have bought a new swimcap with strap from Ebay and I am experimenting using other caps underneath to keep hair dry. So far not very good. Next time I am trying a shower cap underneath to see if that works. Tempted to cut my hair short again as this was never a problem then, but it took me so long to grow it I can't bring myself to do it.

    I have longish hair but for work after swimming I never style it, I rough dry it, then do the front sort of properly, then I put in pony tail, twizzle round and then clip up on the top of my head at the back so there's lots of bits coming out. Works for me. Maybe you could try experimenting with clipping it up.

    Did 5x last week, hoping to go for it this week.

    Hi everyone, :wave:

    Can I join in too? I'm trying to slim down as I've got to quite a monstrous 12st 8lb :eek: and feel horrible, I used to be 10st and looking back at photos I can't believe how different I look now! I don't fit into most of my clothes and am skint (trying to turn that around with a bit of inspiration from this site too) so can't afford any nice new ones and I'm living in rather unattractive (but admittedly very comfy!) cheap and loose fitting numbers that hide my squishy tummy. Would be nice to look and feel better with regular exercise and having the fall back motivation/support of all you lot aiming for the same thing might just be pretty darned good! :) feel like I've been stuck in a rut for while.

    Also, with the whole being super skint thing it's easy to get stressed/depressed and exercise can only be a good thing to combat that :j

    Welcome Cattyboo - there is definately room for one more.

    I know what you mean about weight, it just seems to sneak up on you and when you are not looking! I have about 6 stone to lose:eek:.

    Well week 2 completed with 3x excercise.

    This week my plan is to go to the gym straight from work (love the classes, but they are on later and find it hard to force myself out again once I am home - I wish gyms would do 5 pm classes)

    Yesterday just did 20 min on the step machine, followed by 10 lengths of the pool and think I will do this each night this week. They do say that if you repeat things enough they become a habit.

    Week 3 completed. I think I will try to increase to four times this week. Enjoyed aqua fit this week, so the plan is to do that again, plus belly dancing class on Thursday. On two other days will do 20 min step machine followed by 10 lengths.

    I bet people hate me on here but I've done 8x sessions the past two weeks. 5x hours swimming, 1 hour each of pump, salsa and zumba.

    But guys. I joined my gym mid Feb 2010 and prior to that I was doing zilch. Lost over 2 stone and counting with exercise alone in that time. I'm doing so much because I'm not where I want to be yet - and 3x per week (or more likely 5) will be for maintaining.

    I did just over 30 minutes of Wii dance games yesterday, and went for an extra hours walk today, so 2 down!
