I did the Zumba dance on the kinect and the music was really good. The dance was good but I needed a few of the steps broken down to help me.

Welcome new guys! Love to see this thread resurrected!
Well I'm still on my regular 8x per week, all of which are one hour sessions. 5x one hour swims (2000 metres ish), 1 x pump class, 1 x salsa class and 1x zumba class. Salsa is soon to be replaced by another zumba and then in May I might add on another zumba.
My weight loss/size reduction has been slow but steady since I started this just over a year ago. When I first began my swim sessions were 40 mins at 3x per week and I did a pump and a salsa class. I then added on a step class and gradually increased the swim until I was doing what I'm doing now.
I had no weight loss from December through to late January but that might've meant either I didn't put any on over crimbo, or I had lost some beforehand and then regained it up to the same level. I only get weighed at the nurse when I go every 11 weeks or so. The gym scales are completely unreliable so you never know whether you are really up or down.
However, this last week or two I have managed to fit in a pair of trousers I purchased in last summer's sale which I couldn't fasten at the waist. I also tried on yesterday some denim capris which I haven't fitted in for some years and they are just about fitting now. Very pleased and shows that a little hard work eventually gets you where you want to go.0 -
Hello
Please can I join? I recently realised how unfit I am and want to do something about it. I also need to stop shopping so this will also be perfect to help me in that department.
I need to catch up on this thread but looks like just the sort of help and motivation I need!!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
By the way this sounds a lot but I don't fit in the other threads where people are running etc. Also please bear in mind I am utterly bone idle at all other times!0

OK my exercise week runs from Monday to Sunday, I exercised 6 days last week, sometimes twice a day:eek:. That was an exception though as I had a week off work so will aim to exercise 3-4 times per week starting today.0

Me and my mum have decided we want to take up jogging so today while i was out at the park with the little uns i decided just to go for it. Was supprised at how far i managed to get (considering i've not ran/jogged for over 10yrs:o) i also really enjoyed it. Think i managed about 20 mins (jogging and brisk walking) and i'm going out again on wed morn once i've taken ds(4) to nursery. I can see this becoming addictive:p.
All this talk of zumba has really got me wanting to go to a class, unfortunately all the classes near me are on an eve when OH works, can anyone recommend a good zumba dvd?
Cant believe how much exercise some of you manage to do, totally puts me to shame:o£387.39/£196.46

Yes but Nicky I'm not looking after children or anything like that - don't underestimate how much physical stuff you can do looking after a family. I am also not one of those people who is on the go all the time - I do not do housework on daily basis or anything like that - I sit in wonder when someone says the sentence 'ooh I didnt sit down til 11pm last night' cos it's so alien to me! Structured exercise works for me because I am very sedentary day to day.
Remember, really nobody should need to 'exercise' it's just our lifestyles these days mean many of us need to in order to just get our heart rates up once in a while.
Having said the stuff about housework though, when I do it I like to put more into it than I need to - ie. I will scrub the floor on hands and knees rather than swizz a brush/mob around.0
