    Hi,
Is it ok if I join in. I have just had a health check and BP was 'borderline' so feeling quite motivated to make some changes. I have about 5 stone to lose so have started eating healthily and have lost a few pounds this week. I have membership to the local gym, started really well back in January, but I have not been for the last few months (why do we always stop just when we are getting fit?) I broke my little toe 2 weeks ago. Still swollen and painful, so I can't put too much weight on this at this for a few more weeks. So...I am planning on swimming and cycling for my 3 session this week.

Count me in! Joined the gym a fortnight ago. Started off well, but missed four days in a row now :(. Day off tomorrow so can make up for it hopefully!

Well day 1 done. 30 min on the excercise bike at the gym and them 10 lengths in the pool.
Hi mightytev, it's so easy to start missing the gym isn't it, hopefully this thread will keep us motivated.

I'm considering trying to go to the gym twice a day. I have an off peak gym membership (£15/month) for the gym that's minutes away from both work and home. I try and go in the morning (8.30ish) before work.

Would it be a bad idea to go again in the afternoon? At most only about an hour each time, and I'd probably split them into one completely cardio and the other weights.

Mightytev, that sounds like dedication, I have enought trouble getting myself there once a day!!
I am sure that going twice a day would get you very fit, but my concern would be that it would take too much commitment, and that you would not be able to keep it up and would stop going altogether.
Good luck with it if you decide to give it a try.

  • Ugh, didn't make it this morning before work but rearranged my schedule at work so going in a bit. So just once today, haha.

Twice a day could fit into my schedule better - make use of odd hours I have free etc. Whereas it's hard for me to get up early enough to go for a longer session before work. I'll keep you all informed.

    Can I join please?

Not exercised in at least a year!
Kick started my new routine earlier by doing 15 mins on exercise bike. :j Woohoo go me! :T

Off to do another 15 in a mo :j

Then 2 more lots this :jafteroon / early evening :j to make up 1 hour today.

Then hopefully if the sun is still shining I will try and get a stroll along the beach with hubby when he gets home.

Fist aim is to lose 10% body weight by October 14th (my gift to hubby for our 10th wedding anniversry :kisses2: ).

    Thanks :)

Sorry everyone for not posting in a while, went off to get married and came back a few weeks ago but keep forgetting to post. I have been really bad on the exercise front since coming back but am going to get back into it this week. I have my sisters wedding in a month and am a bridesmaid so need to look good for this. Well done everyone for keeping this thread going and welcome to the newbies. I will reread this thread and add everyone to the first list.

EDIT - all done - SandC and Nobertsmum let me know if your total weeks completed is correct as I got a bit confused thanks

Wayhay! :T I made it through day 1 of my personal 10% health challenge, 4 x 15 mins on exercise bike plus a walk round the block with MIL n dogs. Already a bit saddle sore and back ache and probably aching legs tomorrow but thats not going to stop me! Off for a nice soak in a warm radox bath now for my reward! :D

Day 2 done - decided to cycle into town and back instead of using the car.
