I am due to hit 40 this year candles and this part of what is triggering getting myself back into shape. I shouldn't have let myself get out of shape in the first place but still.............. the motivation is here now!

I've done my 3x this week - 40 mins swim Monday, pump class Tues, salsa aerobics last night. Got step class this evening and another swim tomorrow to make it 5x.

Despite following a regime for 2 months now - zilch has happened with my body. Patience will out no doubt but hence why I've swapped one of the 2 or 3 swims for another class, but more intense. I dont want to go mad with anything, either diet or exercise, for fear of getting results then slacking off and going through the whole cycle yet again so I shall just have to watch my food portions and chocolate treats as well as remaining more cautious with the wine and see how it goes. Crisps I gave up for lent and had a few packets last week after easter but I've decided to knock them on the head bar the occasional treat. They make me want to buy and eat packaged sarnies for some reason and I can do without them!

Good going everyone, keep up the good work! I haven't been this motivated in years and I am pleased with myself. Although I havent lost weight perhaps I've toned a bit (no difference in clothes that I can tell) but I definitely feel better and although the sweating has brought me out in spots somewhat I know I look kinda 'well' (I hate it when people say yuo look well though as I always think they are just thinking of something to say other than 'fat'). :D

Mines not exciting I've done the hannah waterman dvd once and my stepper once. Still got one more to go. Not seeing much improvement in my figure though which is my own fault for not eating as well as I should be.

  • Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a while, I've had relatives staying all week plus I was visiting them last weekend so been busy. This last week I haven't exercised at all apart from running around and digging on the beach with the kids (including finding that I am now too old for cartwheels :o ) the week before that I managed my three (week 10th - 17th) but didn't get chance to post. I was a bit too embarrassed to put on the workout DVD with my cousin, her husband & their 2 kids staying with us but they've gone now so I've no excuses. I might try a long walk with the pushchair later and count that as one of my three as my eldest 3 are with their dad until this afternoon. I hope everyone is enjoying the good weather we've been having and keep up the motivation everyone :)

Well done everyone. Im going to start upping the amount I do now on the dvd and try to eat better now that eggs have all been eaten.

I agree with you Kornishkat I would have felt embarrassed too, I dont even like to do my dvd with the OH in the room. I have put you down as 4 weeks done, is that right?

Candlesrus I dont know when you started this challenge if you remember can you let me know so i can work out how many weeks out of for you

Just done my first 1 for this week this morning.

Bit downhearted about no change in my size, according to clothes anyway and although I've only just started weighing myself I can't see much difference there either. Ach well, keep on keeping on. Should start to see something soon as I'm on week 9 now I think it is.

Going to go back over this thread and check out how much I've done. Think I might see an improvement in swapping 1x swim for step class.

Very proud of you home exercisers for keeping it up - my motivation to do stuff at home is quite poor but I'm in a good routine now.

  • Yes Skaps, I think that's right, 4 weeks done :)

I was having an interesting conversation last night with a couple of friends who use the Curves gym for circuit training. They were saying (which is completely obvious even though I hadn't realy thought about it) that as they get fitter they're having to work much harder to get feel the effect of exercising. Apparently when they're using the machines their pulse is monitored and they have to keep it up in the green or something to mean they're really working and obviously as they're getting fitter they really have work hard to get they're pulse rate up. So I think I'm going to have to start pushing myself a bit more as I must be fitter (even if only slightly) than when I started a few weeks ago.

Anyway, so far this week I've only managed one of my three so I'm going to have to try to fit in some more exercise or start counting different things as exercise like walking round the shops or pushing the kids on the roundabout and swings when we're at the park :rotfl:

Completed 4x for this week, had planned on 5 but ach well.

Yep you are right kornishkat, I've swapped one of my swims for another exercise class which pushes me more on a cardio level. I needed to start off with the swimming to get my fitness up a bit before braving the more difficult stuff. I am definitely getting fitter and putting more into it week by week.

Slight loss on the scales this morning (weighing myself weekly on the gym scales). Would like to start feeling the difference in my clothes.

Still, I am on week 10 of this and prior to that the exercise was zero so it is going to take time.
