I took delivery off my brand new bike toady ( my reward for quitting smoking in Jan) but had to tidy out the toy shed to fit it in there . Going to try it out at the weekend as soon as all this rainy weather clears up . Did my wii active toady ( I finish my 30 day challege on thursday ) , and have also been doing some dumbell exercises . Have been taking the dog on 20 min walks every day. So far have kept my weight off despite giving up smoking ( the secret is to eat low G.I foods , that fill you up and stop you feeling hungry and reduce the liklihood of snacking . If you have to snack replace with heathier alternatives ) I worked out that I burn roughtly 1lb of fat a week off in extra exercise which equates to 52lb a year ( just under 4 stone ) so have realised that exercise is a vital method of keeping the weight off and stops me from yo yo dieting

well one down, two to go this week. Am planning on doing Race for Life with my sister again this year so attempting to do some running (albeit in very short bursts lol!) but have a few weeks to go so if i can keep up with 3 a week i should do it. Back to gym tomorrow and hopefully out walking with a friend at the weekend..

candlesrus - well done with quitting smoking and i hope the sun shines long enough for you to get out on your bike.

I quit smoking a year ago just last Saturday, best thing I ever did.

The exercise has come a bit late after that but it didn't lead to any weight gain, I was fat already, ha. :D

Due to do my 2nd for this week this evening but this darned cold has affected me, it comes and goes how I feel. I have read up that if the cold is 'above the neck' it's fine to exercise but not advisable if its on the chest or you are achey or feverish. No mention of others at the gym of course!

I will just have to see how I feel this afternoon. If I don't go this evening I will still manage the 3 this week with a swim tomorrow and Friday.

I went, I'm glad I did as it made me feel better.

And I've now done my 3x for this week as I went for a swim this morning. :j

Will make it 4x by going again tomorrow.

Loving this motivation I seem to have picked up from somewhere.
  • Managed 4 lots of exercise this week :T and might fit in a little run later whilst DS is at Gymnastics. If not I might get another chance at a fitness DVD tomorrow morning. If I could just keep off the snacks now, perhaps I should start a challenge of my own. Manage at least 3 days a week where I don't eat a hundred weight of biscuits or chocolate :o

My running has totally fallen by the wayside over the last 2-3 weeks (I gave myself bad calf strain from overdoing it!)

Calves are back to normal now, I've ordered some compression socks (hear they're good for preventing pain in the calves) and have read up on some better stretching techniques. Should be back out and jogging by Easter :)

Weekly check in 3/3 done. My little piggy-bank on the wii has changed to silver and I feel very proud.:o

Had lots of blood tests done last week and I have an underactive thyroid so hopefully the treatment will give me a little more energy and help shift some of the weight. If I could just get rid of the chest infection I've had since October I'd 100%.

Well done to thems that have done their 3 this week :T and to thoes that haven't managed it :naughty:
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D

Well done everyone !!! :T Ive done my 3 out of 3 this week and only have 1 day left on my Wii 30 day challenge . Planning to try my new bike out tommorow if the weather is o.k .

By the way I found this really useful exercise calorie counter website ( ignore all the weight loss adverts) , you put in the type of exercise and then put the duration and it tells you how many calories you have burnt

    http://www.changingshape.com/resources/calculators/caloriesburnedcalculator.asp

I decided to eat todays calories that I burnt. I had a packet of minstrels in the cupboard that kept screaming "eat me , eat me" . Anyone else have this problem?:)

Yeah all the time. Have been snacking less though it is really tempting. Lent has been a good excuse though not to eat things. I have given up chocolate, biscuits and crisps. It has been hard especially on days when i need a mood pick me up.

Candlesrus how many weeks in total have you done - realised i had not added you to the list. Sorry.
