It's really terrible but could you take me off this? I need to concentrate on other things at the moment. Well done to everyone managing it.0

Well t'wasn't easy because of working away from home........ but I did it:
Bike 3 mornings, wii only 2 evenings but I did 4 hours of steam cleaning the house today so I'm counting that too
I've made a couple of changes:
Don't have so much time in the morning as I've just got a new pup and she takes some looking after (and clearing up after!) so have shortened the time on the bike but up-ed the intensity, so still getting the same calorie burn.
I'm finding the 30 mins of wii aerobics is getting too easy so have increased the calorie count a little will see how it goes.
For those using the wii, what do you do?
I like the rhythm boxing and the step. The free step is good for doing whilst watching tv as the time seems to pass quicker.
I can't say I'm hooked on this exercise lark, I'll always be a couch potato at heart, but I've been doing my 3 a week since last august and it's certainly a habit now and I miss it if I don't do my usual days.
Well done to all that have managed their 3 this week :T and if you haven't...... well, there's always next week. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -

i've looked at this thread and hopping someone can just give me a litle advise.
i'm so despreate to lose weight but cannot find the motivation to do it
i work nights so when i get up in the afternoon i'm not really motivated to start excersising and by the time i've had tea its time to leave for work.
i have a treadmill and dumbells at home but to be honest there just gathering dust as i don't use them but wish i could find the motivation to start using them i even purchased an mp3 player and downloaded fast music (disco) to keep me on the move while excercising but guess what i soon lost the motivation.
i'm in my 50's so not sure if my age is preventing me from being motivated my age is no excuse but working nights has made me a couch potatoe (i know elderly people excercise but they seem to be motivated which i'm not)
i'd be happy if i could lose 2 stone so can anyone suggest any tips pleaseeeeeeee
My first tip would be to concentrate on one thing at a time and make small changes rather than going for it for a few weeks then giving up . Most of the weightloss will come from what you eat rather than exercise alone . Try losing a bit of weight first through changing your diet to give you the energy you need to up your exercise level . Try simply cutting out things like takeaways. Pick a diet that will work for you , there are loads out there . I used to work nights and it throws your body clock out as well as your eating habits . Try to eat small meals at regular intivals ( this burns fat off faster), and never ever skip breakfast . try and cut down on sugary foods as these will increase your cravings for sweet things , eat more foods that have more fibre and fill you up . Keep yourself busy to avoid the urge to snack . If your weakness is snacking when sat infront of the T.V , then make a rule that eating in the front of the t.v is banned ( make another place the only place you will eat..like a kitchen or dining room) Because it takes more effort to go someplace else and eat most of the time you won't bother unless you are very hungry . You are never too old to get into shape. If you lose some weight this will help with your motivation. Set yourself an achievable goal and go for it
When you start to exercise , take it slowly , don't go straight away and join a gym ( studies have shown that many people who join up only go for the first 3 months then the rest of the year they are paying for membership they don't use ) Start by walking more , taking the stairs rather than the lift , a bit of cycling or an exercise bike . Better to do a little everyday rather than exercise for an hour a day only once a week . If you make exercise fun rather than a chore you will be more likely to keep it up
Hope this helps , and good luck with the weightloss0 -

I tend to do 6mins hula hooping, 12min Island Jog, 6 minute rhythm boxing, one session on the easy stepping & 2 on the harder one. I do some of the balance ones like ski jump & snow boarding and if I get time I try & do some of the muscle workouts.
did a 3 mile very brisk walk this morning pushing J in the pushchair - going to try & get in the habit of going for some long brisk walks, it means I get some exercise & fresh air!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

ive just got a new training game for the wii, its called active trainer , and you have to wear this leg band which detects you movements . I did it last night , fantastic , because it tells u how many calories burned etc . for me this is better than the wii fit because it gets me more out of breath. i burned 176 calories last night in just 30 mins compared to 100 calories of 30 mins on my cross trainer0

Done some walking today ( about 2 miles ) , then did my wii active , toatl calories burned off 210 from Wii and 200 from walking = 410 . I'm aiming for around 1000 calories a week to keep the weight off and tone up . I'm already noticing some changes around my stomach area0

I'll have to look at that active trainer!
I have no idea how many calories I need to burn!
I am 5ft 1, weigh 8st - BMI around 22. So I don't wont to lose weight just firm up my post birth jelly belly!!!
Not doing anything today, I went to the Trafford Centre and met some of my MSE Mummy friends that I have met on this forum.
Plan is for a long brisk walk tomorrow with a friend OR if it's wet I'll do Wii Fit.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
