i've looked at this thread and hopping someone can just give me a litle advise.
i'm so despreate to lose weight but cannot find the motivation to do it
i work nights so when i get up in the afternoon i'm not really motivated to start excersising and by the time i've had tea its time to leave for work.
i have a treadmill and dumbells at home but to be honest there just gathering dust as i don't use them but wish i could find the motivation to start using them i even purchased an mp3 player and downloaded fast music (disco) to keep me on the move while excercising but guess what i soon lost the motivation.
i'm in my 50's so not sure if my age is preventing me from being motivated my age is no excuse but working nights has made me a couch potatoe (i know elderly people excercise but they seem to be motivated which i'm not)
i'd be happy if i could lose 2 stone so can anyone suggest any tips pleaseeeeeeee
Hi, I am new to this exercise idea but feeling more motivated as I look and feel better. I have lost about a stone since November just by moving a bit more and I promised myself I would give it 6 weeks before I had the option to give up. It was off and on at the start but this thread has kept me more consistent.
I hardly ever do the same thing twice in a week because like you, I don't find exercising overly interesting and all the things I like doing require me to be on the sofa! But I have a couple of exercise DVDs, I go to yoga once a week, use the Wii Fit and sometimes follow some exercise routines on Youtube.
When you exercise do you do it for ages? If I think it will be a chore I won't do it. A lot of DVDs have routines for about 20 minutes which I find manageable.
I went to my yoga class today and so I'm on 2/3 for this week! :j0 -
I didn't walk the 2.4 miles today - J was playing up this morning so we were running abit late and the weather was looking a bit dodgy.
Not going on tomorrow so I'll try and get some Wii Fit done while J sleeps!
Firsttimer - my Dad is in his 50's and works nights as a lorry driver. He is overweight from sitting on his a$$ all night and eating crap. After a slightly high BP and an overcautiuos Occupational Health Nurse he got the wake up call he needed, he has started going to the gym. He too has a treadmill and weights at home (hang on, it's not you is it???) - could you not set yourself a goal to get home and do some running before you go to bed?
I know my Dad goes to the gym straight after his shift as he drives past it on the way home, he does an hour or so then hits the sack when he gets in. Perhaps you could try this instead of doing it when you wake up knowing you have a full shift ahead of you.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Hi!
Well motivation here has been seriously lacking with everything, exercise included! But...(and again because of this thread) I just did some weights and sit ups, press ups, lunges, that sort of thing with the the timer set so I knew when I could stop!
So I get my 3/3, hurrah! :j
It must be turning into a habit because I feel strange when I haven't done my 3, even though I don't have the motivation. I realise this doesn't really make sense but I mean I feel like I have missed something out if I haven't done it.
Hope everyone is well. Not to worry Skaps, next week is another week!
FirstTimer4Me - have you had a look on Youtube? Even something gentle is better than nothing. There's lots of 5 minute yoga videos if that's your thing. And it's free of course :T.0 -
As im doing the 50000 situps and squats and lunges i have been keeping up with this but the cardiovascular aspect did not happen this week. Though today i got the hannah waterman dvd for £2! Did one section which was enough - seems like a good workout. Will start the week off well tomorrow by doing some more of the dvd. With the ice its too dangerous to go jogging plus my asthma flares up with this cold weather.MFW 2016 No 68 £1300/£8500 No new toiletries Cook sth different0
