I read this post with great interest. Theres a good list of official authorised online retailers on page... 19ish. (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=12841213&postcount=373 is the exact post) These on a whole are your best bet for buying ghd online.
Just to let you know I've been working with one of the largest online retailers for at least 5 years now(wont say which, dont want people thinking imj here to plug), building and developing their websites. And have seen fake sites come and go repeatedly. There are a few simple tips to make it easier to spot them.
The average price of ghd stylers on the authorised websites only varies very slightly. A few pound here and there, the differences usually lie in the bundled goosies you'll get ( free mats, oils, sprays, bags etc.) But as a whole they'll all be roughly the same(ish) price. Cheaper that the official site but not much cheaper than each other. If you find a site selling them £20-£30 cheaper than all its competetors you can pretty much be sure its fake.
Also, no serious online retailer uses only paypal, the fakers do. If the company is legit and accepting credit cards, they'll be using worldpay or a similar online processor.
And finally look out for sites selling the HOT PINK stylers, These were made for only a very short time and have been unavailable for a VERY long time. the odd few legitimate ones surface on ebay, but these sell for ridicoulous prices £300+ because of their rarity, if you find site selling them, odds are, they are fake. If in doubt,, double check with ghd, a quick call will cost you 20 pence, and could save you £100. Just call em and ask is www. whatever.com a legitimate retailer?

use a little common sense and if the offer looks too good to be true... it is.

    Hello,

Am looking to buy some GHD's, just dont know what sort!!! My hair is dead straight anyway and I do have some very cheap hair straightners to tidy it up. Everytime I go to the hairdressers and they use GHD's they are soooooooooooooooooooooo much better. Its recently been my birthday so happy to pay out for the best, the official website for GHD doesnt really give any advice on what to get (mini?, salon? etc). Any advice very grateful:o

The ONLY place I would get GHDs from is Boots or Tesco.

    You know they are real

If there are problems, you know where to take them too.

    AND you get points.

    Hello everyone
I wish I'd found this forum before I niavely decided to buy GHD's from https://www.gohiline.com . I've read other messages and this site appears to be the same as the gohaironline one other people are talking about.

I realised they would be fake before they were delivered and e-mailed to ask them to cancel the order and got an e-mail back saying the order had already been dispatched but I would get a full refund if I sent them back.

Anyway I was wary of sending them back to the address in China and e-mailed to ask them to confirm their address - surprise surprise they have not got back to me.

I have informed my credit card company who advised me to return the product as they can't do anything while it is still in my possesion. Therefore I have returned the package and kept the receipts and if I don't get refunded I will ask my credit ard company to intervene.

It cost me £22 to post the parcel back - but at least if I get refunded it's better than being £80 down. But it's cost me to learn my lesson.

I will let you all know how I get on and if anyone else can let me know if they've had any luck getting refunded.

But please do not buy from the above site!!

P.S. Thanks to everyone who wrote about the Babyliss Pro 230's.
I've ordered a pair of them from Tesco Direct and they're coming tomorrow!!
At least I'll not be frightened to plug these ones in!!:T
