Hi. I brought from gohaironline and find myself in exactly same situation. I have received the straighteners but Im wary they are not real ghd's. Ive emailed the company and they have said if I return them they will refund me.
ghd said they are not an approved seller and have had problems with them i the past.
I just bought a pair from gohairline.com and when I tried them they blew up. I contacted the company who told me they would send another pair but I have not received them and since finding this forum have emailed and asked for a refund. Have you returned yours and got a refund? Did you have to pay for postage?

    I'm feeling a bit conned :-(

So are yours definitely authentic? Have you registered them on the GHD website? That's the site I'm probably going to go with if yours were ok.

I know Boots is a safe bet but you only get 1 year warranty with them instead of the 2 years it says on other sites. Not sure why this is, maybe it's wrong?

Sorry for the late reply, i have been in America for the past few weeks, yes i did register them and they are genuine. Incase anyone's interested, they worked fantastically in America, exactly the same as they did in England, i'm really happy with the purchase!

  • I recently bought a pair of GHD's from gohairline.com and they blew up (see previous post). I contacted the vendor who said they would give a full refund if I returned them, but I don't want to fork out the postage to China as it will be quite a lot, so I am waiting for their suggestion. I have since contacted Paypal with regards to this and the item is not covered under the buyer protection. Paypal have said that they will investigate this further if there are more complaints about this vendor. Therefore if you have bought striaghteners from this site or similar and paid through paypal, please contact them to see if they will investigate this further.

If anyone has had any luck in getting a refund please let me know.
  • I recently purchased a pair of Hot Pink GHDs from one of their sister sites called slikylustre.com.
They took 10 days to arrive and on opening them i could tell that they were definately FAKE.
I contacted the seller who assured me that they were the real deal but the reason that they were so cheap was because they were being sent out before the holograms were stuck on (yeah right!!).
I then contacted GHD and they were very aware of this site selling fakes who used to go under the name of silkylustre.com before being closed down!
Sent another email to the dodgy seller to say that i was sending them back for a full refund and that i wanted the return postage refunded to me to and that i was also filing a complaint to PayPal.
The seller agreed to it all but said if i did complain to PayPal then i wouldn't be able to get my return postage refund as PayPal wouldn't support it, so i left it at that. (Return postage cost me £24).
The parcel took 10 days to arrive back and a couple of days ago my PayPal payment of £75.99 was refunded but no postage refund!
Have tried to contact the seller but of course no replies to any of my emails.
Have also emailed PayPal but they say they can't do anything either.
Just thankful that i actually got a refund!
    Hope this helps.
  • Well I received my GHD's yes they work but like others I have now come to the conclusion they are fakes, the company are not answering my emails and the web site has fanished and PAYPAL say there is nothing that they can do about a refund, I though that by using PAYPAL i would be covered for this sort of thing but apparently NOT..

Thanks Cookie Muncher. I have spoken at length with Paypal but there is nothing they can do because it wasn't bought through an ebay site. I also asked the seller for a full refund and they said they same thing. It gives me a bit of confidence to know that you got your money back.

I also contacted Trading Standards but without a UK address they can't do anything.

If anything this has taught me to be a lot more wary when ordering from the internet and the good old saying if it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is!!

  • My hair straighteners also melted (taking some of my hair with them). I contacted gohaironline.com and they are sending me a replacement pair. I have asked for a parcelforce tracking number and this has confirmed they are on their way. If these are still fakes then I will ask for a full refund. They are always registered under this website and I have never had a problem finding them on line. Has anyone received anything from this website with no problems?
