  • I too have not received my cashback from this company, i waited the 60 days before making my claim and then i waited the further 60 days to receive my bacs payment, it was due by Nov 2nd but to date has not been paid.

I have sent 5 emails to the company and filled out a complaint form but not herd a thing back from them.

Its not that it has been refused its just not been paid.

With this non response i thought that they may have gone bust.

Within hours of my posting on this forum, I was emailed a claim form, and received notification that my claim had been successful. Just waiting for the money now (fingers crossed). Thanks MSE - I am somehow doubtful this would have happened without this forum!

Well I probably spoke too soon (I was trying to be positive!) as I haven't yet had my money, nor any further correspondence from them
  • Well i have just emailed them pointing to this forum and my above posting.

I can assure you that BeatThatQuote have not gone bust. In fact, they were bought by Google earlier this year* for around £37.7m, so they should have enough funds to pay your cashback ...if they want to.

The link is at www beatthatquote dot com [I'm too new to post the link]

    7 March 2011
BeatThatQuote.com today was sold to Google for GBP37.7 million. We think this deal is a tremendous opportunity for our company to develop new and innovative options for personal finance in the UK.
Our team is excited about becoming a part of Google. We look forward to working with their engineers to create new tools making it easier for consumers to choose the right financial products. We think we can offer more transparency and better pricing information than existing online offerings.

We are confident that by combining BeatThatQuote.com's expertise in UK financial products with Google's technology, we'll accelerate innovation in this field, benefiting consumers and the companies offering these products. We plan to keep working with our current partners and look forward to working with new ones, too.

They may still be alive, but they are acting like a moribund set of cowboys over this cashback issue.

Contacting them by email (at the "special" address given out) gets no response, nor do they reply to emails sent to named personnel there!

They must have set up a deal with MSE to use the special cashback link originally - (now significantly no longer mentioned on the MSE comparison site review- wonder why!)

  • Just had two emails from them confirming my cash back claim is approved but with a date to be confirmed so we shall see, but what i would like to know is why are they not sticking to the you will receive your cash back within 60 days as per the terms and conditions.
  • This is what it says on the mse site.

"You must claim it 60 days after buying the policy, it'll then be paid after another 60 days so its not quick"

This is what it says on there own claim page.

"Once you have purchased your insurance you will need to wait 60 days before filling in the form to claim your cashback, We will pay your cashback within 60 days of your claim submission date"

Note the difference between after another 60 days and within 60 of your claim so i was expecting within 60 days as per there own stated terms.

    That's nothing!

See the 120 days they quoted at me in this "revised" "step 3" in the process they are attempting to bring in:

Step 1: Complete an online switch.

Step 2: Start to receive energy from your new supplier (60 days from request to switch)

Step 3: We receive notification that your switch has been completed and send you an email containing your unique link so you can make your cashback claim (120 days from request to switch).

Step 4: Once submitted your claim your will be processed and the cashback will be sent to you within 30 days

@rmiles - I believe my colleague has just spoken to you and the payment has reached your account?

One thing I should let posters on this forum know is that when payments appear on bank accounts, they show "B" as the payee, not "BeatThatQuote". So please look out for that!
