I switched energy suppliers though BTQ, tempted by the cashback on offer. My supplier changed over on 4/8 and I expected a cashback claim email by 28/9 at the very latest according to BTQ’s blurb.
Nothing arrived (and yes I check my spam box daily) by 3/10 so the phone calls started, 10 of them on that day, but always the answering machine with “leave your name and number and we’ll get back to you in 30 minutes” but they never did. Undeterred I rang dead on 9.00am the following day and bingo a real person! There was no explanation as to why there had been no email but the chap said he would send me a link to the claim form and he did. The form was immediately completed.
Over the 30 days that followed (BTQ’s timescale) not a squeak! 3/11 back to the phone. Back to the answering machine. Back to the non returned calls. Even the 9.00am call the following day didn’t work, but using a different option did! The response – my claim had been "waiting for “a Director” to authorise it", and he just had!@? "The payment will be in your bank account in 7 days." No further explanation but the promise of a confirmation email. It still hasn’t arrived 3 days later and on past experience somehow I doubt the money will either.
My impression of BTQ – they get your business (and their money) by dangling a carrot then keep moving the carrot further and further away until hopefully you give trying to get it. Something you’d expect from a 2 bit fly by night company not one with one of the world riches companies behind it!0

Strange goings on indeed. Regarding my own dealings with BTQ the latest situation is that today I had an email from them requesting details of my claim, despite the fact that yesterday they said it had been processed. They also promised to get "straight back to me" if I replied. I did, they haven't.
Also a person from BTQ left a message on my answerphone giving me a number and asking me to call back but when I did the number turned out to be "not recognised". No surprise there then!0

This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"
This is a bit of a contradiction:-
MSE had a special link to this outfit for us to use to get the insurance/energy cashbacks, so now they aren't sticking to the ts +cs, maybe MSE should do what they can to make them toe the line for us!0

I'm in the same position as a lot of other people on this thread. I used BTQ to change my gas & electricity supplier, with the promise of £35 cashback. The transfer completed at the beginning of August, but I haven't yet heard anything from BTQ, and they never reply to emails0

@rmiles - I apologise for the lack of contact. As we don't want you to post your information in an open forum, can you either call us on 0800 599 9955, or email us on contact@beatthatquote.com, and we can look into it? It would be really helpful to us if you could mention that you are coming from MSE and your MSE username so we can tie this all up

Following my recent exchanges with BTQ I can at last report that I have received a positive response. A phone call from BTQ yesterday confirmed that my cash back from my switch of energy supplier will be transferred to my bank at the end of this week. This was backed up with a confirmation email, so provided this promise is carried out I ( and I have no reason to doubt that it will be) then I regard that the whole episode has been brought to a satisfactory conclusion , albeit a rather protracted process.0

can you either call us on 0800 599 9955,.....
As has been reported a number of times, when you ring that number, you get a recording asking you to tell them your phone number/name and they will get back within 30 mins. They don't ever ring me back! Or are they actually harvesting "live" phone numbers and associated names to sell on (or have some other use for these numbers, as they certainly don't use them as promised to ring you back!)0

@yesbut - thanks for your update, please let us know if you have further issues
@Quentin - apologies, we have been experiencing difficulties with our telephone system. I can, however, unequivocally confirm that we are not harvesting telephone numbers. If you are awaiting a response, please email contact@beatthatquote.com. As I said to rmiles earlier, it would be really helpful to us if you could mention that you are coming from MSE and your MSE username so we can tie this all up“Official Company Representative

Within hours of my posting on this forum, I was emailed a claim form, and received notification that my claim had been successful. Just waiting for the money now (fingers crossed). Thanks MSE - I am somehow doubtful this would have happened without this forum!0
