lovemoneysavingdeals wrote:You can actually buy the Smile wine case direct from virgin wines , I am a virgin customer just type in the search smile case & it should list the current selection , I only had one bottle to complain about all the rest were drinkable & if you do not like a particular bottle the cash is credited back to a wine account in your name.
All the wines were drinkable except 1 bottle which tasted like vinegar & had to be thrown away & i got £4.50 credited into a wine account in my name .Ive since been offered £40 of free wine as long as i spent £40 .Just received a new case on Friday :j0 -

Ive just checked & you cannot search for the smile case at virgin wines I would suggest contacting them to ask what wines they are putting into the smile case as i noticed the wines i received many of them are now out of stock.0 -

I guess it also comes down to personal experiences. I am commenting from my own personal experience of dealing with Smile versus FD. I have had reason to complain about Smile & reason to commend staff by name from FD for helping me out with a major financial deal.0 -
I have just opened an account and intend to deposit the £1500 soon. However I read on this thread that I should also be depositing a regular income, eg my wages, but I don't understand where it says you have to do this in order to get the free wine. It was my intention to keep the account open for occasional use, after I have claimed the wine. I don't really want to start changing my finances around to a great extent for the sake of 12 bottles of wine......0

The monthly deposit is more a requirement of the account, rather than something needed in order to get the wine. If you're just after the wine, then once you've deposited your £1500 you could always close the account. If you want to keep the account, it shouldn't be a problem not crediting a monthly payment, so long as you do not have an overdraft with them. We have had our smile account for years now, and use it for odds and ends - we certainly don't have regular payments made into it and they have had no problem with that.0

My only intention is to open the account, put the money in (let it clear for a few days as Martin suggests) and take it out, closing down the account at the same time. Presumably, after reading this whole thread, can I take it that you have to deposit the £1500 in one lump sum to qualify for the free wine? Simple "yes" and "no" answer will do!! TVM0

I did this offer at xmas.
You don't need to order the Smile case - the voucher is just for £50 and you can choose whatever you like from the virgin site.
I did not make regular payments into the account - they wrote to me saying that the account was fine but I would lose my £500 overdraft (big loss).0 -
does anyone know if this is still running-just got hold some cash0

I did this a while ago and we ended up with 36 bottles of wine. After I opened my account they sent me an e mail saying if I recommended a friend and they openend an account, then they would receive 12 bottles and so would I. So I recommended my husband and we are still enjoying the wine.0
