I've been banking with Smile for 3 years now, and would happily recommend them ahead of ANY other UK bank.
Absolutely fantastic customer service which has never, ever left me feeling disappoitned or frustrated.
The best in the business, and well worth a small monthly charge.0 -
They are excellent, and you don't need to pay a monthly charge, unless you are on the Smile More account. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

I'm a student and I don't earn £1500 a month on my summer job, let alone in the term time. Do you reckon they'd still let me open it? 12 free bottles of wine are calling me..."It is dangerous to be right when those in power are wrong" - Voltaire0

You don't need to earn £1,500 per month for the account, you can open it earning £100 per month, as long as there is a regular wage/benefit/pension etc going in, only if you don't have regular payment direct into the account going in, do you have to pay in by cash or cheque etc £1,000 per month.
However you won't get the free bottles of wine unless you do pay in £1,500 before 1st Oct 2006.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Hi I am new to money saving and am interested in the free wine, but when went on to the site to sign up for Smile Current Account it wanted to know details of my present current account. Do I have to give these and do I have to swap my present current account to Smile to take advantage of the offer, or am I able to simply open a new one? Any one know? Kind Regards Tina0

You have to give those details yes, no you don't have to swap from your present account.

I have had an account with Smile for 2 and a half years and can more or less recommend them. But - no wine for me; not when I joined and certainly not now. Oh well - no point whining about it I suppose0

Can anyone who signed up earlier give details (e.g. is the wine red or white or mixed; from which country(ies)and, if you've drunk the bottles, what's your verdict verdict on the quality?
I guess I may be expecting too much from a freebie:j but a few bottles of 1982 Bordeaux 1st growth would be a pleasant surprise:drool:
While I'm waiting I'll pop down to Oddbins to open a bank account:D
You can actually buy the Smile wine case direct from virgin wines , I am a virgin customer just type in the search smile case & it should list the current selection , I only had one bottle to complain about all the rest were drinkable & if you do not like a particular bottle the cash is credited back to a wine account in your name.0
