Unfortunately it doesn't look like you'd qualify:† wine offer terms and conditions
smile recommend a friend wine promotion ends 31st December 2006. All current account applications must be made and opened within 4 weeks of the dispatch of this email. Wine qualification upon first credit transaction of £1500 minimum within 8 weeks of your account being opened. Wine redemption code will be dispatched no later than 4 weeks after the date of qualification. A delivery charge of £5.99 is payable upon order of wine. This offer is only available to customer who are residents in the UK (except the Channel Islands and Jersey). This offer is not open to previous or existing customers of smile. smile has the right to withdraw the offer at any time.
And I'm not sure how to get the e-mail, in order to forward it on, in the first place. The friend that recommended me simply got sent an e-mail from Smile out of the blue (she is, obviously, a Smile customer!). But yes, the wine offer gives 12 bottles to both the referrer and referree (sp?!)0 -
Just recieved my 2nd delivery of the 'smile' case...this time with a slight variety in the wine selection. Think i'll be popping open my 1st bottle this evening.....a bottle a day keeps the doctor away!
p.s Got to give credit to virgin wines by the way, delivery prompt and all in one piece!
cheers! :beer:0 -
I have to say that, so far, I'm impressed with Smiles customer services. They also do a credit card which, if you are already a smile customer, is a fairly low rate of interest, plus they don't charge for you transferring a balance to it from elsewhere. I've just received an e-mail from them about this free wine if you open an account, so if anyone is interested, give me a buzz!0

Smile are a good all round banking provider that's simple to manage, ethical and no gimmicks - they are hard to beat
current account gives 3.04%
savings account gives 4.25% as long as you have a current account, useful for maximising short term interest - transfers between accounts are instant.
credit card gives 0.5% cashback - pay for everything on the credit card
(ok ok, I hear the screams......do always pay it off in full as all we moneysavers do!!)
For longer term saving, you'll need Icesave or Icici or similar.
Unfortunately, the wine offer has ended for now...but my case went down well!!0 -

I guess they must just be doing a targetted scheme - I joined through a friend who got an e-mail from Smile offering the free wine and she was a fairly new customer of theirs. Now I've just got one as well ... I guess they're going for a domino effect. :rolleyes:0
