arealhighlander wrote:I emailed Smile yesterday asking when we were getting our codes, they said the usual, within 4 weeks.
They arrived today! One to me and one to the wife. Just bought 2 cases of the Smile mix. I also note that even though Smile say they are £50 vouchers, Virgin said they were £51! That means the postage was only £4.99.
AND I used my new Sony credit card to buy it so I will now have my free Sony MP3 player on its way.
So now time to close down my extra Smile account and when I get my first Sony bill, close the CC.
Cheers !
just like to point out that with the sony card you get X amount of points to then redeem for an mp3 player or cds if you chooseNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

Just got his from Smile :
"Our Marketing department has advised me that you are not eligible for the wine offer. I'm sorry for any confusion caused.
Unfortunately customer services cannot see applications made over 3 months ago, therefore we need our marketing team to check to ensure each customer is eligible for the offer.
To be eligible for the offer you must have
- Applied by the 2nd July 2006 for your current account
- Opened their account by 6 th August 2006
- Credited at least £1500 by 3 rd September 2006
The voucher will be dispatched to qualifying customers by 30 th September 2006.
You did not credit your account within the correct time frame.
I am sorry about this, however you have opened a really good current account, with lots of benefits and facilities, which you will be able to take advantage of.
Regards
Emilie"
I thought you had to credit the money before 1st October???? Can someone please confirm???? I want to go back to them but I want to be sure I have my facts straight first.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

They have got their facts wrong.
You have not "opened a really good current account"; the Alliance and Leicester is much better paying 6.10% interest and a 0% overdraft for 12 months!! ;-)0 -

Right, This is their latest response - what should I do now?
I'm sorry that you have not received your wine voucher.
I've checked your eligablility fort he wine offer and the dates stated in my colleges previous message are correct and therefore you are not eligable for the wine offer.
The terms and conditions of this current account state that £1000 per month or a wage mandate must be paid into the account. This hasn't been met. If you had met this enough money would have been credited to the account.
If you are still unhappy after this response, please reply to this message and your complaint will then follow our escalation process.
At this stage we are required to let you know that smile will regard your complaint as closed if we do not receive a reply within 8 weeks of this response.
If you remain unhappy after exhausting our internal complaints procedure, you may ask for your complaint to be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Full details of our procedures are on our website, https://www.smile.co.uk, click on 'Talk to us' then 'Complaints' on the right hand side.

Has anyone got any of the t&c's for this offer as screenshots as I am having serious trouble with smile in giving me the wine. This is their latest communication to me:
I'm really sorry that this matter is still ongoing. I have had a chance to check with marketing on all the emails that were sent to you.
The first e mail stipulated that you needed to apply between the dates of 12/06/06 to 02/07/06 and credit the account by 3/09/06. You applied for the account within these dates and credited your account on the 29/09/06.
You may have received a second e mail giving the next promotion where you had to apply between 3/7/06 and 31/07/06 and credit the account by 1/10/06. You wouldn't have qualified for this promotion as your account was already open and this wasn't an offer for existing customers.
You would have qualified and received the wine if you had credited your account by the 3/09/06. All new customers are bound by the terms and conditions of the wine promotion and as you didn't credit your acccount by 3/09/06 you do not qualify for the wine.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

BexTech wrote:You don't need to earn £1,500 per month for the account, you can open it earning £100 per month, as long as there is a regular wage/benefit/pension etc going in, only if you don't have regular payment direct into the account going in, do you have to pay in by cash or cheque etc £1,000 per month.
However you won't get the free bottles of wine unless you do pay in £1,500 before 1st Oct 2006.
I've just reived the following email from Smile:
"Hello Grant
I'm sorry but you're not eligible for the wine offer, the money had to be in your account by the 3rd September 2006 and wasn't until the 12 September. I know that this will be a disappointment but we have to draw the line somewhere and unfortunately for you you've not met the timescales.
Regards
Gaynor"
I thought Martin said the £1500 had to be in there by 1st October?0 -
