you say its been 1 degree max.
it has to below freezing for 7 consecutive days to trigger a cold weather payment.
so if it got to 1 degree on 1 day .... no cold weather payment!

Or Forcast to be below zero for 7 consecutive days

Hi,can someone clear up a disagreement i am having with a friend, she reckons my Daughter should receive a cold weather payment due to the fact that shes on DLA and ESA support group.
but i have tried to explain to her that she dosnt get it because shes not on income support and the fact she lives at home with me and i am working.

your daughter wouldn't receive one ( assuming the weather was cold enough) because of the reasons you mention.
she would have to be getting income based benefit B]

It seems the government is lagging (scuse the pun,) behind with their website, this winter.

I checked if i was due a Cold Weather Payment, this morning. This morning, there had been no qualifying periods.

This afternoon, there are 4 qualifying periods of Cold Weather.

It seems their website has finally been updated?

    Must be short staffed.

Check if you qualify here :-

I checked again today and 2 payments will be coming my way. So pleased as can use the heating more without worrying so much. As soon as it arrives it will be put on the Post Office card (that we pay our bills with).

It has been really cold the heating had to go on 3 times yesterday which only happens when it's really really bad, we make do with 0-2 most of the time!

It's annoying because I know fine well it's been below freezing, even during the day, but I've sat freezing, too worried to put the heating on, because of the cost.

Still, at least I don't have to worry as much about this cold snap. £100 finally coming my way, (well, within the next 14 days.)

Think I might treat myself to some heating?
