I don't have any of the other qualifying things, I was just confused because of the money I received last March.
I think the £60 was your Christmas payment (usually £10) for last year, although I could be wrong.
I know it wasn't a CWP anyway as these were paid, if applicable, over and above.
ETA: Ooops, sorry SH1305, didn't read your reply before I posted. That's what I get for jumping the gun. :rotfl:0 -
Hi,
We receive child benefit and child tax credits and have a child under the age of 5, does that mean we are entitled?0 -

I am really fed up. I recently had my benefit of ESA increased and it was back dated to 31st October 2009. So, no probs with that. BUt when I called the JCP today to check about cold weather payments they said that yes I qualify for 2 cold weather payments at end of 2009, but it had not been triggered as I have only just now got my benefit updated. So they tell me I cannot have the 2 payments. JCP kept me waiting for many weeks over a system error on their part. Seems a bit unfair I have to lose the 2 payments. Any ideas if it's worth writing a letter over?0

Are you sure you qualify? Which qualifying benefit are you on?You may also be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each qualifying week if you are getting Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or income-related Employment and Support Allowance in the assessment phase and have one of the following:
- a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium
- a disability premium, enhanced disability premium or severe disability premium
- a disabled child premium
- Child Tax Credit that includes a disability or severe disability element
- a child who is under five in the family

Hi,
Yes, I qualify. I am on the higher rate of ESA(high support group) plus I get a disability premium for being on high rate ESA.
The problem has arisen as JCP were months late(clerical error) sorting out my medical. I only recently had the medical and had my money backdated to OCt 31st 2009. JCP say I am definately in the right support group for receiving the CWP. They won't pay it though as it is automatically triggered at the time of cold weather. Mine wasn;t triggered as I was not on the system at that time. They won't back date it:(0 -
martha2, call again and ask to speak to a supervisor. They can process a manual payment in these circumstances.Gone ... or have I?0
