the 18th dec was when the first triggers for cpw came up, try ringing income support, dont tell them your due any or cpw dates from the postcode checker or dwp site, just say can you tell me if any cwps were triggered for my area, they should then ask for your postcode and tell you. ive ony ever ran i/s and been told the correct info every time.
mine was from 14th dec not the18th

Hi, i'm on IS and didn't have a child under 5 until 21st December when my baby was born

The site says 4 have been triggered for my area, but also says this:

If you have qualified for Cold Weather Payments since 1 November 2009 and live in this postcode area, you are due to receive 4 Cold Weather Payments.

Obviously i didn't qualify until 21st Dec, but won't i still get any for the time after that?

you qualify for the dates after the 21st dec yes providing they understand you now have a child which seems in many cases they dont, make sure you contact I/S to make sure they have got you on the cwp scan list.

My father applied for Pension Credit last August, after the figures came out stating that he would receive it, and the application's been stuck in the DWP for 5 months now. Two quick questions, then:

    - Does an application for Pension Credit count as eligibility for cold weather payments?
    - If not, can the payments be backdated when my father starts receiving Pension Credit?
    Debts (26.3% remaining) - CC/BARC: [strike]2058[/strike] 100.00 @0%; CC/MBNA: [strike]1877.75[/strike] 0.00; Loan/SLC: [strike]10000[/strike] 7901.84 @1.5%; Loan/Per: [strike]1500[/strike] 0.00; Loan/HX: [strike]15000[/strike] 0.00
    Mortgages (94.7% remaining) -

I'm afraid that it appears you do not margymuggins. You would need to have one of the main qualifying benefits to be eligible.

Edit - Begger, DX2 beat me to it...going to have to be faster! :rotfl:

yes if the pension credit is awarded then he will get any cwps back dated also £10 xmas bonus unless that was paid with another benefit ie dla/state pension/incap
  • just had someone on the phone saying payments will be going in today.just had to say our daughters details over the phone.but apparantly the postcode checker isn't accurate so what it says might be different to what you will actually get.

    Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each week of very cold weather in your area if you get Pension Credit or income-related Employment and Support Allowance with a support or work related activity component in the main phase. it would only count when its been processed, he may be able to get cwp backdated as the claim is in the system.
