We had to fill out a form which they sent us and then we had a phone call from DWP saying are payments should be with us soon.
Its annoying when u think they should know this already from seeing that you get child ben ect..

i got a call back today saying the reason i havn't had my payment is because it says we dont have any children.we've got a 3 year old daughter and we recieve child benefit and child tax credits for her so she didn't have a clue why they thought that.she said i might have to fill in a form confiriming that we have a child.
  • Neither myself nor my husband have received cold weather payments, we both qualify as we both get Disability Living Allowance I get the higher rate, my husband the lower rate, and our mobility part goes straight to motability operations. My husband works full time we receive Council Tax Benefit. What do we do to ensure we get the payments?Who do I call?
    Many thanks Ruth

Sue have been wondering if you heard anything yet, or if they have even paid the CWP's into your account yet?;)

    Hi there

Check the info below, I copied and pasted the info from the first page, for example not working and on Income based JSA, Income support and so on, along side with disability premium etc, not just DLA alone, hope this helps, good luck.

You may also be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each qualifying week if you are getting Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or income-related Employment and Support Allowance in the assessment phase "and" have one of the following:
    • a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium
    • a disability premium, enhanced disability premium or severe disability premium
    • a disabled child premium
    • Child Tax Credit that includes a disability or severe disability element
    • a child who is under five in the family

Ruth do you get IS/JSA/ESA? these benefits are needed as well as a disability premium. DLA on it's own doesn't get you a CWP.
