Hi Sue
Just checked my account and yes it went in today.;) XX
So your still waiting for yours?
Sorry to hear this Sue, what are they doing??
Yep still waiting and when I rang on Tuesday, going through a 6 inch thick scan of people sent over from the CTC people.
So hopefully (fingers, toes and anything else possible crossed) shouldn't be too long now.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I am currently claiming contribution based e.s.a with the work related activity component and this morning was reading about the cold weather payments. After checking my area I found out I was entitled too receive three cold weather payments. As I live in a flat with electric heating over the last several weeks I have spent more than the 75 pound entitlement on electric just to stay warm, but have received no payments.
I contacted the jobcentre and they told be I would only qualify if I was on income based e.s.a. Even though the two pay exactly the same rates I do not qualify because I have paid my national insurance in the past.
Surely those that have made contributions should get priority over those that have not or more to the point both contribution and income based should be entitled to the same cold weather payments.
Can anyone understand the reasoning behind this and do you think it would be worth appealing or maybe contacting my local mp?0 -
Both my husband and I are in receipt of DLA. Does this mean we are entitled to the cold weather payments ( not the one for over 60s) or not.
You may also be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each qualifying week if you are getting Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or income-related Employment and Support Allowance in the assessment phase and have one of the following:- a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium
- a disability premium, enhanced disability premium or severe disability premium
- a disabled child premium
- Child Tax Credit that includes a disability or severe disability element
- a child who is under five in the family

n/b the postcode checker does not tell you if you are entitled to a cwp, it only tells you which area qualified for a cwp.0

You can appeal but unfortunately you won't win the appeal. The Cold Weather Payments Regulations are very specific about the benefits you have to be receiving, the Regulations list the benefits.0 -
DX2: have you had any of your payments sorted out yet? If I remember you are qualifying through the CTC route. I hope you've had something..?0
