To get CWP you must be getting the following:

IS (Income support) and have a child under 5
IS (Income support) and CTC (child tax credits) with a disability premium/severe disability premium
IS (Income support) and Incapacity benefit with a disability premium/enchanced disability premium or severe disability premium.

PC (Pension Credit)

IB JSA (Income based Jobseekers allowance) and have a child under 5.

At the moment the only group of benefit claimants who are having problems getting an automatic payment of CWP are
IS (Income support) and CTC (child tax credits) with a disability premium/severe disability premium.

I'm a little confused as to whether or not I am entitled to the cold weather payment! I am a single parent of a 5 yr old child and I am in receipt of Income Support! Do u get the payment if your child is 5 and under?

seems to read they have to be under,under by what it doesnt state if shes 5 and one day id say you dont as daft as it sounds.

not sure it does say under 5.

id ring up if shes 5 id say you qualify nan but it is the dwp were dealing with lol.

I've understood it to be if you have a child UNDER 5, not 5 and under.

If I'm not entitled to it then maybe they should make it a little clearer and state that you only qualify if your child is '4 and under'! I will make enquiries tomorrow but go down to the office rather than telephone!! Cheers all
