yes when we checked through the system and we qualify. Just need to claim it now. Didn't now who to contact.

    How to apply

You don't need to apply; you'll get a Cold Weather Payment automatically as long as you qualify.
Tell your pension centre or Jobcentre Plus if you think you should have received a Cold Weather Payment but you have not had one.

As you know from my post I posted on here the other day the CWP dept confirmed last week if the payment is not in the account by the end of the week it will be in by Monday coming.

There are 4 owed altogether, and normally whatever goes into the account on Monday is shown by today (Sundays) with my bank.
I have checked online banking and nothing up to now.

However, my sister rang me who lives in the same postal code area as me have now received 3 out of the 4th payment.

I will check my account again later, but will be back on the phone tomorrow otherwise.
I understand with these being automatic, but when you have not received any payments at all with others in the same area that have received a few, then chasing up is required.

    Good luck all.;)

    Di,

Just found this :D appreciate it's from last year but I suspect it's the same this year.

Steve Webb:To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions (1) how many families had cold weather payments paid manually during the most recent period of cold weather; [249444]
    (2) for what reason families in receipt of both child tax credit and disability living allowance for their children experienced difficulties in receiving cold weather payments after the recent period of below-freezing temperatures; and how many families were so affected. [249447]
Kitty Ussher: The vast majority of customers who qualify for a cold weather payment are paid automatically following a spell of cold weather. Customers in receipt of a qualifying benefit who are eligible to receive a cold weather payment because they have a disabled child aged five or over in the family and receive support for that child via child tax credit are paid clerically. Families entitled to receive a payment in these circumstances are identified by scans of the relevant computer systems which means they will not receive payments as quickly as those customers who can be identified and paid automatically.
For the most recent period of cold weather, approximately 33,000 cold weather payments have been or will be issued clerically to these customers. The number of such customers (as opposed to the number of payments) is not available. For the same period we estimate that over 5 million payments have been issued automatically to eligible customers.

Thanks for this, I assume it would still stand for this year as well.

We were told by the CWP it should have been automatic, with hubby on income based JSA, my son disabled receiving child tax severe disability premium.
But there we go, I suppose it happens.:D;)

geoffs weather update- atlantic winds are doing battle to get in as we speak with the block impact that has caused all the snow, they seem to be winning hence a thaw of sorts is happening with temps practially tropical at 4c. if the atlantic winds prevail and win the battle over the block impact then were in for some pretty wet and wild weather, no doubt then well get flooding, ugh.
