There are enough dangers on the road without having to look out for these things.
Do you hate pedestrians because you need to watch for them too?
What about other cars?
Road signs?
White lines?
Traffic islands?
Do you suffer from road rage at all??
Why pick on motorbikes?
Personally I wouldn't have one but they're as entitled to use the road as you or I am.

its not even dangerous. the code says clear all windows. the roof is only advisory.
i love pulling away at lights ( or indeed the motorway hotty) and seeing it fly of.
im a professional driver and its no problem to anyone.
car behind has frozen wiper jets? they are breaking the law.
car behind gets covered in snow? they are tailgating as i can tell you you need to be on the car in front to get their snow, even at 80mph.
going down a hill? think ahead and clear the snow 1st then, always plan your journey well in difficult conditions.
a biker of course would have more sense (got a lovely750SS) and keep their distance if they were worried.
people complaining about this need to be shot.
yoiu really havent got a clue have you? Do you think that snow/ ice couldnt fall off a car coming in the other direction round a corner and drop straight in your path? What about if it blows accross multiple lanes when either then snow covered vehicle is overtakeing or being overtaken? How are you supposed to keep a distance then?
Maybe you should take a bit more responsiblity for your acrions as you say you leave the snow on your own car - maybe admit that you as a "proffesional driver" are in the wrong?

Read the other points too instead of picking on just one, thnx
The point that I didn't have time in the morning is because I leave for work at 5am. It's bl00dy cold thenThe other points are more relevant tbh.
As I said if I was driving a distance or going onto motorway I would make more of an effort, but trust me, I am not driving far enough for it to start melting, never mind falling off!
Dint mean to pick on youyou just had the nearest quoteable post.:D
I left the house at lunchtime today, much nicer than 5:am.:D“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -

What, like people who don't look for motorcyclists? I agree, I hate them.0 -
There was someone on tv this morning saying how dangerous to other road users it was to drive without clearing the snow from the roof, bonnet, boot of your car. Imagine you were driving along and a lot of snow suddenly came at you from the car in front, what would you do?. panic and swerve or just let it hit you. I know how dangerous this is as its happened to me and I nearly had an accident.
Also someone was driving along the motorway when a lot of snow/ice came off the roof of the lorry in front and almost hit her car.. Very dangerous.
Why would it "suddenly" come at you? As an observant driver, you'd have noticed the snow on the car and have kept a safe distance. Why would you swerve? Its just a bit of snow.
Nearly had an accident...if that's true, you nearly had an accident because you panicked.0 -

.
Very true, I would keep well back from any car that had a considerable amount of snow on it, because it would certainly be being driven by an inconsiderate plonker that ignored advice given in the Highway Code.0 -
if your concerned that you will fall off your bike in the snow, then get a car. or a bus.
But as usual - reading through most of the replies in this thread. the car driver secure in his own little shell can't be shown that they may be doing anything wrong as they are all perfect drivers and they are better then everyone else on the road.
Just a simple few seconds to clear the snow off the roof and people have to come up with all excuses to show why they shouldn't, and anyone who suggests it is stupid. How narrow minded.Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
Its my choice what I decide to drive / ride on the roads. If other people cant be more thoughtful for other road users saftey just for the sake of a few moments to clear snow of their car then they should take the bus instead.

What's narrow-minded is presuming that people here only have experience with cars. I can assure you I'm much more concerned about the diesel swilling from the fuel tank of a HGV than I am a few vaguely icey flakes of snow.0 -

I am not concerned with a few flakes of snow - I am concerned with large clumps of snow that drop of vehicles that could have been easily cleared off before driving. Which was what the thread was about - not dieselDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -

Nearly every biker I know is a better than average car driver, and it's specifically because we spend our lives looking out for the dummy on autopilot who isn't looking out for us. The main cause of bike accidents in this country is down to lairy bikers, but dozy car drivers.Fight Crime : Shoot Back.
It's the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without being seduced by it.
