'oh look at me i have snow on my car'
i like the real idots that just clear a little patch so they can just about see out. i smile when i see them skidding as they pull away in the wrong gear too
muppets serious note how long does it take to clear the snow off the roof
    start engine.
Whilst it is warming up get a soft broom, one with a long handle as i know how your little handy pandys get cold if they touch the ice ;)
by the time you car has heated up your car is clear

With any luck they will have a small chip and the heaters on full, brake hard and suddent change in temp will shatter thier windscreens.

It only takes 2 minutes to brush it off.

its the ones that only clear the are the wipers cover thats gets to me I cant stand following someone with snow all over thier rear window but it gives you good warming that they arent going to be the best drivers in the world.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

    .

lol thats the funniest statement i have read today, firstly even with the heaters on full blast the snow would have been blown before the glass even gets above a zero temp, its also highly unlikely a screen will crack like that, the temp change would have to be significant
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

its the ones that seem to be incapable of driving without being able to see out the rear window that get me,if they can't use thier wing mirrors it tells me they are hardly going to be the best driver in the world.

You should get the broom first as it's illegal to be more than 1 metre away from your car if you have left the engine running.

Plus in some areas, by the time you've got the bloody broom, some little scrote will have nicked your car. I've even heard of them doing that while the owner was brushing off the rear of the car.

Sorry guys, but the amount of snow and ice we've had up here makes it impossible to clear the snow from the roof of my car.

    1. I'm too short, I can't reach. Tried using a broom doesn't work
    2. The broom doesn't work because... Frozen solid snow. We've had snow/ice for almost 4 weeks now. with temps ranging between 0 and -13
    3. I just don't have the time in the morning. Takes me all the time I got to defrost the locks to get into the car, before I start defrosting the windows.

Maybe I would be more tempted to do it if I was driving far, but as I only drive about 10 miles a day, it can stay there til it falls off in spring.:p

I agree with the posters who say you should brush the snow off your roof,
but you also need to be aware that there are plenty of vehicles out there the cant be cleaned easily, so you still need to look out and drive at a distance.

Tall vans and lorries can collect a huge amount of snow, and when the wind blows it off on the motorway it can sometimes slide off all in one lump.

But if I told you I was going to drive with a mattress on the roof of my car, as I "did not have time to remove it."

You might call me irresponsible .

don't think anyone has mentioned this yet......if there is that much snow on the roof of your car ot be a danger and hazard to others....how much is on the ground and how icy is it? is it safe to be driving at all?

We already have 2 inches of snow here this morning...I'm not taking the car out...it;s simply too dangerous.

Depends on how confident you are in the snow+ice, how well your local council have cleared/gritted the roads and if you've got your car properly prepared (eg. snow tyres, chains etc. etc.). It's been pretty good locally to me, not worth bothering with snow tyres, though enough people have used it as an excuse to not go to work that the local business park car park has been empty and thus perfect for a bit of RWD fun in the snow.

The Canadians must be laughing their !!!!!! off at us lot right now
