Does nobody use newspaper any more? park up, wipers on, switch off when neither up nor down (or half way). Lift wipers, lay on newspaper, put down wipers. Also stops wipers freezing to the window.

DISCLAIMER: - THIS ACTION WILL IN NO WAY CLEAR YOUR SIDE WINDOWS.

We've got sheets over our windscreens tonight. It's only screens that freeze badly because they are at a shallower angle than side windows.

Why do people stand there with a scraper scraping the ice away all you need to do is buy de-icer and spray it on. Its much quicker and easier! No need to scrape.

My husband for more than 45 yrs & a HGV driver has kept large plastic containers , & poured warm water over each window..never failed or broken the glass..even do it now with the car..

Also keep old socks..& pull over your shoes/boots..you wont slip whether your walking to work , or just sorting your car out..

Um, why all the comments assuming everyone has a garage? Not all of are lucky enough to have a garage or driveway! So the hot water/bucket wouldn't work, as would have to lug it up the road!

i use a 6 pint milk bottle, just cold tap water, it sorts my big car out each morning, try that
