Glad they managed to get your car safe Valli, I agree it's not worth trying to get it home just now. Unless this lot disappears in the next 24 hours (which I very much doubt) I am not sure if I should even attempt to get T'Cross in Thurs. I could trek over the fields to the local branch but that would only be worth it if the keyholders can get there.

This afternoon I have been helping W build a lego model which had 49 steps  BUT he has done it all and I am so proud of him. He persevered for almost an hour and a half with it, didn't want to stop until it was done :D

Going to have a well deserved :coffee: and biscuit and sort those decs!

I've just moved my car from the top of the drive pointing in to the bottom of the drive pointing out... that way, if I do get snow, I won't have so much to dig. I also retrieved the shovel from the car. And updated my eating on the fitbug site (it makes more sense now... very exciting as it works out not only calories but carbs/protein/fat). And had a look round the site - they do meal plans, exercise plans, all sorts. The thing is, my step count is going to be incredibly low this week if it carries on snowing, so won't actually be representative... Still... I'll have to work out ways to improve it, as I need to stay above 10000 a day to earn my points.

Better close the curtains and finish the ironing, then work out what flying I need to do tonight!

Helen J - I just wanted to send massive, massive hugs to you. It's horrid having anyone in hospital but make sure you take care of yourself and be careful visiting if it's snowy and icy. Virtual support heading your way xxx

Skipsmum - hugs to you too. Little sh*ts. Hope you get it sorted soon and drive carefully!!

Valli - close escape - glad you're home and car is safe.

LL - thanks for the fairy dust. It worked! I know I shouldn't have gone out but I'm sooooooooo glad I did. A friend walked with me and we were out for three hours because the snow was so deep in places. We took it slowly and had a really good natter which was lovely. Anyway, eventually went to tesco and all the mega blocks streetz that DS loves was on half price or less. So that's the bits for his birthday sorted! If I can't get out again he's got some nice presents.

We made the mistake of taking Stripes to the park. Half the school was there and lots of dogs. Stripes had a ball. She ran and ran and ran and chased snowballs and rolled in the snow and got chased and chased people. After an hour she still wouldn't come home. She's now fast, fast, fast asleep - bless her. Our older dog took one look at the snow and refused to go out!

Still snowing heavily here. We have about 8 inches now. It's brilliant now because it's fresh but I'm NOT going out once it freezes over!!

I've loaded the dishwasher and put the washing machine on.

Feeling quite a bit better - just feel like I have a hangover now!

Please make sure you all take care in the snow xx

  • What a day  I got to work OK, but it hasn't stopped snowing since 8am  DS was sent home at 11:30 and DH left at about 2pm. Our office closed at 3pm, and I went to buy some groceries (not been shopping for more than 2 weeks :T ). It was pretty manic there, but OK. I've brought my laptop home, so may do my appointments by phone tomorrow

Both children have loved being in the snow this afternoon, which pleases me no end :snow_laug:snow_grin:santa2:

Off to do a HHC of decluttering 5:00 - 5:30 if anyone wants to join in :T

Kick for Jo. Set a timer, do 15 minutes. Do the things that will have the biggest impact first. Empty the bin, move the floordrobe into the laundry basket. Make the bed.

I'm really struggling too. All the stuff is off the floor and in piles on the bed but I can't decide what to do with it. There is too much to put away (that's why it was on the floor) and I seem incapable of making any decisions. Feeling really depressed have had tea and biscuits and now feel fat and depressed. Maybe I should do yours Jo and you could do mine! I'm sure we could be more rational about each others mess.
