Im sorry about your laptop Toots - let me know if you need anything, but I dont have my mobile with me....you will need to ring the house. Or PM me your number and I will ring you xx

Toots, my love, I'm sending you humungous hugs. I'm sorry if my veto of debt related stuff on the thread was taken the wrong way. It wasn't meant to come across as being smug in an "I'm alright Jack" type of way. Because I'm not - by any means. Particularly as I haven't had a proper job for 7 months and the prospect of one in the near future is remote.

I am living on a wing and the occasional prayer financially at the moment. BUT I don't want to discuss it and I don't want to have to not get a star because THAT particular type of task is on the list and I'd only shut my eyes to it.

And looking at your lists, it wasn't clear that you were going in hospital again (at least not this week's lists). There was a mention of packing for Tuesday but that was it. And you posted on both ids during the week so I didn't realise you were in again. You've always let us know before. I guess the difference this time is that you managed take internet access with you which is great.

BUT, if you had let me know, I could have helped out with the stars and would have been more than willing to! In fact, I'll ask the question now - shall I start checking and adding stars as and when I trawl through the thread? I'm more than happy to do that, I just don't want to tread on your toes xxxxx

Anyway, enough of all that. DD and I took BB on a long walk this afternoon in the snow which we all enjoyed. I have decluttered a couple of thousand words from my head and roast dinner prep has commenced.

I also stood at the kitchen window for another half hour watching a very amusing turf war going on in my back garden. The mistle thrush which was around this morning decided that the cotoneaster bush with all the berries on it belonged to it. Whenever a red wing would appear, the thrush strutted its stuff and saw them off.

Then, fieldfares arrived (again, never seen them in the garden before!) and joined in the battle for the juiciest berries.... A sort of status quo developed in the end with the thrush on the top of the bush and the redwings and fieldfares being permitted to peck at the lower branches.

But enough about that. I'm now going to peel the potatoes and prep the veg to go with the roast beef..

I am seriously considering revising the welcome pm as although a percentage really appreciate it I think it could be handled better.
First a big thank you to toots for everything you do on this thread. I've only been here a week but it has made a big difference. My oh is delighted in the change.

Second I'm really sorry I didn't reply to your PM. It was a really nice suprise, and the first time I've been welcomed to a thread in such a nice friendly way.

If you do revise it, and if it is not too much work, how about breaking it down and sending a bit each day rather than one long message. If you need help I'm sure there are plenty on this thread, including me, who would be willing to help send out PMs.

Seconded! I know we all comment on the length of your list because we worry about you overdoing things, but it's what works for you that matters (it also means we can spot when you're not doing your ebaying ;))

As for the laptop, if it isn't covered by insurance, let me know and I'll see whether I can help out. Its one of those things that happens to all of us when we're stressed and rushed, so I hope you can find a moment to have some 'me time' and relax.

I think we all need to remember that the initial posts make very clear that the lists are just guidelines and can be adapted to suit our personal circumstances. And that pretty much everything we need to know is either in the first 3 posts or in the welcome PMs that Toots sends out, or in the stickies at the top of the Old Style board. I also find it useful to remember that I can use the edit button and delete posts if I cross-post or duplicate what other people say.

We've had a solitary fieldfare move in to the garden this week and it's taken ownership of the pyracantha - I'd never even heard of them before! It's lovely to see him but he's bullying the blackbirds away so I'm a little worried about them now :( Where abouts do you live? I'm in North Wales - my Mum is 25 miles away but she's had a little group of six move in this week too. Really hope this cold weather eases off a bit soon

I've washed up the Sunday roast stuff and sorted the bins (have missed two collections now due to Christmas and weather so the bin bags are mounting up - aargh!). I'm just off to gather the ironing together and give the bathroom a quick freshen up then I'll be all ready to go for tomorrow :)

I must say I dont read other people's own lists as they are not relevant to me, but that is what the thread is for, to encourage ourselves:wink:
I know if I didnt post my list I would do nothing:rotfl:

But I do feel some of us ( old and new :D)are not making it too obvious when they have finished a days list

I think we sometimes forget that Toots has the hardest job on here, so from me........
