Darn it - lost my multi quotes as net went down in between
I'll try and remember
Amanda - welcome. I will be back to working a 35 hr week as of Wednesday with another 5 hours travelling so wont have time to read, fly and do everything else. As for getting help DH works long shifts and does very little in the house, DS (17) is very good at keeping his room tidy and will help if I think to ask him, DD (10) is a nightmare, her room is always a tip, even 24hrs after cleaning it and grudges helping in any way. Has to be nagged to tidy up the things she leaves downstairs then DH moans at me for nagging
Crafty + Lilme - thanks for the sewing machine advice
Greenbee - I will have a look in the shop perhaps tomorrow as it is still round the corner from the cinema.
I liked the idea of the bamboo too - thought it was very green
saffstar - welcome
poohbear - great to see you managed to get out
Spent all afternoon trekking town with DD trying to get presents for DH although DD spent most of her money in Claires, Accessorise and M&S (on chocolate ). Did treat her to a new pair of boots and had to put an extra £1 to a top which she really really really had to have which was in the sale. Still thats all her Christmas money gone now . Ended up buying DH a smart winter coat which I hope he will like.
Have got chicken in the oven roasting for DD and I for dinner although if DS is back he will probably have a snaffle too, DH will be at work AGAIN .
Oh and why when the sink is full of washing up does he fill the 1/2 bowl in the middle and wash up the things he has used to make his tea, leaving everything else which I hasten to add was half of what he left after making his tea last night :mad:
Suppose I better go and clear it away no as that will be all the flying I will have done today.
ETA Toots I did think to myself that I hadnt noticed you posting and hoped you were ok, but I do get confused with you and your other half :rotfl:Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Hiya toots, just wanted to say thank you for the pm you sent me last week welcoming me to the board. Apologies from a newbie for not always remembering what these abbreviations mean... it's my fault for joining so many of these wonderful threads on MSE:o:o.
Anyway, as a newbie who is sitting in a hoovered and cleaned flat for the first time since I don't know when, I just wanted to say I hope you're feeling a bit better and I'm sure I'm one of many who really appreciate everything you do here - thank you :APrevious debt: £14K :embarasse Debt free: Sept '03MFW#42 Mortgage OP savings £4271.18/£12000 2019

toottifrootti wrote: »this is included in the welcome pm I send out but does anybody really read it i ask myself - how many times do new people ask what does HHI or HHC stand for or whats a fling boogie? they are all told in their pm to read the first post where all the abbreviations. I have to say that it gets very disheartening when questions are asked that I have specifically made sure are answerd in advance IYKWIM:rotfl:
Toots, if you have a minute, sweets, would you send me a Welcome PM, as I've not seen one.
One suggestion, tomorrow morning, I'm going to go and post my "chat" stuff on the Daily thread and only post my FL list hereIf those of you who fancy a chat come over there, we'll all have each other to chat to
If you admit to being Overly Chatty, it'll be just the place
:rotfl: :A
DH is cooking our HG pork, and I've made some coffee buns for tea  Just going to update my list - all done :j
See you all later, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
froddy/schools hols & snow days I heard they were on about doing the reduced holidays because of snow days again, this used to happen years ago but they were saying if this sort of weather becomes regular they need to do something to get the balance right. Our children have had a week off now this term, 2 days last term and will probably be off again next week. People struggling to meet full time childcare costs they were not expecting & those having to take time off due to child care problems it's an absolute nightmare. No schools aren't babysitters but people work around what their children are supposed to be doing.
Teachers will also have extra childcare costs, due to lengthened term time, please remember that it is not the teachers who decide on closure, but the headteachers. We are expecting to be in work on those days and it is out of our hands whether or not the school gets closed. (Though headteachers do it reluctantly, as it reflects on them and the school).
3 loads of washing done today, scullery floor mopped, and porch and hall and downstairs loo. Am at the bottom of the ironing basket again.
Toots sorry you're feeling unhappy. Hugs. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
toottifrootti wrote: »just because some of the flyers dont have jobs, husbands, children, spare rooms, utility rooms, gardens, pets, conservatories, debts, cars, holidays it doesnt make them any less of a flylady - we just have to ignore /delete the items that dont apply to us - This occured to me too Toots but I thought it best to keep quiet as I too feel im in the minority.
-and some of us are not lucky enough to have no money worries beacause of our own stupidity of getting into debt ( and I refer to myself here) or through sheer hardship at home. - Ditto
being in debt or having next to no money has a very big bearing on how we feel about our homes and how we look after it - its a vicious circle because you cant afford to make it better without money so you get down and then when you are down you dont want to fly so I think the occassional 'extra' to remind those of us who need to look at our finances would not be asking too much.... Toots, you are not asking too much.
...I dont think the idea of adding in a hobby is part of housework IMHO - I am all for hobbies and crafts and there are loads of threads relating to this - in my mind the whole idea of the thread is to get the house organised and tidier so that we have the time to go and do these things.
having looked at my own personal lists I see that a lot of things are not flying related as set out in pigpen's first few lines of welcome which I will now find another way of dealing with - it will save you all moaning about my lists -it did help me to have my own weekly list there in front of me but I will just do it on paper now I think. DONT YOU DARE!!!!! You are more than entitled than any of us to post your list to suit yourself. Lots of people add their own 'to-dos' - you make sure you keep posting them lady if thats what works for you.
mind you a huge percentage of you never read them or you would have noticed that I was away last week.I was in hospital for pre-arranged treatment for my muscles from last tuesday - I got home today. The treatment went easier than usual - it was slightly different so I will see how this week goes and if it has made any difference.
Toots, Im sure no one meant to upset you pet. I agree with some of the suggestions being irrelevant to flying but some being agreed with and some not, but everyone is just putting across what would and wouldnt work for them. As you well know, Im one of the ones, who needs the most helping balancing books!!! I dont even know how to budget properly :rotfl:
And like you, I wouldnt be interested in 'Hobbies' etc being added to the list, but as I have always done, I was just going to change it to something relevant to me.
Please dont stop posting your list Toots. Some of us do read it, but as you were posting, I didnt think you were away and thought it may have been my mistake. Im sorry Toots. Im glad it went better this time and will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Loads of love hun xxSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

grateful more than aware of that, my friends are teachers who've had to work & their children have been off (also as ex governor) Some have been unable to go to work as they had no alternative childcare, meaning less staff in school which was later forced to close due to staff shortages. I know some quite harsh headteachers who have told staff they will go in regardless & should have thought about getting there in bad weather when they accepted the post, my sons old head walked 10 miles to get to school in the snow & expected staff to make the same effort. One friend is waiting to hear what she will face for being unable to attend due to weather. I think it's made many consider plans for weather like this as it's the second year we've had 'iffy' weather. Heads here have chosen to close when they think lack of attendance will make the school look worse, which LEA seems very unhappy about.
Flying, more work in kitchen done, doing it in bursts as it is soooooooo cold in there! One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
