Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
  • hey all

I don't post often, but I fly (almost) daily, and today has been a really bad day

The good news is that I can claim 4 stars for Monday to Thursday :j:j

The bad news is that after helping at school assembly (coffee), I got home to find the house we are selling has frozen pipes , and the drama/crisis enfolds... ultimately, [STRIKE]we[/STRIKE] DH does what [STRIKE]we[/STRIKE] he can. I panic alot, but managed to galvanise support from friends :T The situation is far from resolved, but he has limited the potential damage, and that is all he can do ... :o

This evening, our elderly cat sharted dripping enormous quantities of blood from its mouth :eek:. DH drove straight to the emergency vets (£100 before you walk in ) where cat was diagnosed with a tumour on the tongue (biopsy to determine Monday) and will be kept in overnight. In the process of diagnosis, the blood clot is 'pulled' out, and DH passed out onto the floor ... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I think its fair so say that I 'didn't get round to the bathrooms'.

    :o sorry miss :o

Hex.. next DW.. buy a bosch!

Or a Miele. We had a Zanussi dishwasher for 2 years...in that time the PCB caught fire twice and had to be repaired (OH worked for an electronics firm at the time, so this was done free), then finally the pump went.

They (Bosch and Miele) aren't cheap brands, but if you shop around you can get a good deal. Our Miele DW cost just over £350 two years ago, we bought from John Lewis via Quidco and got back £30.

We had to replace the WM two weeks later  so went for a Bosch. Would recommend either brand TBH.

Flying-wise I'm catching up on the outstanding jobs - maybe I'll get a week's worth of stars (I can dream!).

Have got to try and start the car today - it's been standing for almost a week...looks like I might be going to buy a battery charger later!

    Have a good day all

Pgipen, if Im not too late, my wish list for cleaning (can there besuch a thing as a 'wish list' for celaning?):

bookshelves - more books than I know what to do with and more than I have homes for
please continue with the boxes on the landing - I have about 20! from when we cleared my M_I_L's house 10 years ago - oops!
I have a separate utility room which is a disaster area - well most of my house is (except the kitchen and bathroom - thanks to all of you)
the study - I work from home and it generates loads of paperwork (nuff said!)

On another note, the bird table has a topping of snow about 15 inches deep (no, that's not an exaggeration). Good thing the hanging feeders are still useable and full. Dont fancy going outside to sort it - snow is at least a foot deep on the ground now.

Oh and I didnt realise I needed to put a Christmas tree in my first post to ask to be added, so here it is... well, it would be if I could find it in the smileys
