    Morning :)

I will concentrate on bedroom today as I've completly ignored it:o

DS fell over in the icey snow on his paper round earlier and hurt back :( He phoned me so I told him to take papers back to the shop and say you're not doing it today. He now wants to give up ( I don't blame him!) but asked me to phone up and tell them! His job... he's got to learn to do such things;)

Hugs if you need them x

Thank you. They look like a great idea. Will need to put major effort into training up DS1 though, because he barely manages to put his dirty clothes into his laundry basket at the moment. Attaching little plastic things to pairs of socks as he takes them off will be a real challenge, but probably well worth it.

Tag vinegar gets rid of the smell of rabbit wee – my sister always uses it on her houserabbits litter tray and any carpet he’s weed on

:doh:Now why didn't I think of that? I use it for pretty much everything else cleaning wise:rolleyes: I've even got one of those 'million and one things you can use vinegar for' books:rolleyes: Thank you, I'll give it a bash!;)

Pigpen As for 'other things' to stick on the weekly lists........
    - In between and down the back of my radiators is very fluffy.
    - Hoover, very carefully, the back of the fridge. Helps it to run better.
    - Sort out medicine cabinet.
    - Ebay/freecycle list. Maybe one, two or three things everyday. I'm sure we all have loads of stuff to get rid of. Lets make some money:D
    - Tops of door frames and curtain poles.
    - CD, DVD and book sorting/dusting.
    - A paperwork clear out. I always do my filing cabinet, noticeboards and desk over the Christmas break. It's amazing what you accumulate over 12 months that you don't really need.
    - Weekly finances update/reconcile. We should all do this anyway but I know I let mine slip sometimes.
    - Kids underwear and PJ stock check. I know I'm guilty of forgetting. They either have to much that's too big or nothing at all.
    - This is probably going to sound a bit OCD but I do a monthly shopping stock take:o I have a list of things that I always have in my cupboards, from breakfast cereals, to cleaning stuff. I just go through it all at the beginning of the month and tick what I'll need for the coming month.

Enough of that. I'm of to find a list and have a coffee.:D

    Good morning all.

Decluttering the dining room of doom (or maybe that's just 'gloom' now) has recommenced already and the nets are due to come out of WM next.

DS1 has casually asked me earlier to confirm that I'll be able to give GF a lift home sometime this afternoon  - he must be joking. When he comes back from his paperround we will have to talk about this. I wouldn't be desperate if we'd have to postpone the visit.

Off to finish breakfast and see what to tackle next. I've got no urgent desire to go outside, so will try to avoid that at all cost. Plenty to do here, anyway. I will tackle a few things from the list later, so will update tonight.

Hope you all have a safe day.

Or a Miele. We had a Zanussi dishwasher for 2 years...in that time the PCB caught fire twice and had to be repaired (OH worked for an electronics firm at the time, so this was done free), then finally the pump went.

They (Bosch and Miele) aren't cheap brands, but if you shop around you can get a good deal. Our Miele DW cost just over £350 two years ago, we bought from John Lewis via Quidco and got back £30.
Hex - see whether you can get something in the sales - I got an end of line Siemens a couple of years ago hugely reduced (and I got an extra discount for taking in the old one). It's also worth checking which brands are owned by the same company, then go for the cheapest brand name - they're generally made on the same production lines, but the cheapest brand is often simply older models from the high-end brands (to take an example from the world of cars, have a close look at Audi/VW/Skoda ... a new skoda and a 5 year old audi are remarkably similar!). And there are lots of good websites that let you compare features.

Pgipen, if Im not too late, my wish list for cleaning (can there besuch a thing as a 'wish list' for celaning?):

bookshelves - more books than I know what to do with and more than I have homes for
please continue with the boxes on the landing - I have about 20! from when we cleared my M_I_L's house 10 years ago - oops!
I have a separate utility room which is a disaster area - well most of my house is (except the kitchen and bathroom - thanks to all of you)
the study - I work from home and it generates loads of paperwork (nuff said!)

Clearly you're my long-lost twin... working from home does seem to generate mess, but at the same time makes it even more important not to have it as you're surrounded by it all day!

Breakfast half eaten. When I've finished I need to open all the windows to let the air circulate, then wrap up and go outside for logs - the stove just made it through to when I got up, but then I realised I had no more logs inside
